Full description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Salesforce Solution Engineer (Developer) based in the United States.
This is a hands-on Salesforce engineering role focused on delivering secure, scalable solutions for complex government environments. You will design and develop custom Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components, automation, integrations, and modern development practices. The role combines deep technical ownership with close collaboration across architects, analysts, testers, release engineers, and government product owners. You will contribute throughout the full delivery lifecycle, from translating user stories and creating technical designs to testing, deployment, and production support. The environment emphasizes source-driven development, CI/CD, Agile delivery, strong documentation, and security-conscious engineering. You will also have opportunities to work with advanced integration patterns, Experience Cloud, Platform Events, and potentially OmniStudio. This position is well suited to a Salesforce developer who enjoys solving complex problems while delivering mission-focused technology for public-sector stakeholders.

Accountabilities:
- Develop clean, scalable, and bulkified Apex solutions using trigger-handler frameworks, service and selector layers, and asynchronous processing with Queueable, Batch, and Schedulable Apex.
- Design and implement Platform Events while accounting for Salesforce governor limits, performance, reliability, and scalability from the outset.
- Build Lightning Web Components using modern JavaScript and develop Experience Cloud pages and portals for constituent, supplier, partner, and other external audiences.
- Design and implement secure integrations using REST and SOAP callouts, Named Credentials, External Credentials, External Services, Platform Events, and MuleSoft or enterprise service-bus patterns.
- Implement authentication, retry, exception handling, monitoring, and resilient integration patterns across connected systems.
- Develop meaningful Apex unit tests and Jest tests for Lightning Web Components, emphasizing behavioral validation, maintainability, and production quality.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, estimation, sprint planning, daily standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives with government product owners and delivery teams.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, testers, and release engineers to translate user stories into clear technical designs and identify ambiguity or dependencies early.
- Support source-driven development and release management using Salesforce DX, Git, pull requests, peer code reviews, automated deployment pipelines, and multi-environment deployment strategies.
- Help establish effective sandbox and test-data seeding approaches across development, QA, testing, and production environments.
- Produce technical documentation required for federal delivery, including solution and design specifications, interface control documentation, configuration workbooks, and deployment runbooks.
- Apply sound judgment when selecting declarative configuration versus custom code, using Salesforce Flow and other platform capabilities where appropriate.
- Contribute to secure, maintainable, and scalable Salesforce implementations while communicating technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, including delivery of at least two full Salesforce implementations into production.
- Strong Apex expertise, including trigger frameworks, asynchronous processing, SOQL/SOSL optimization, bulkification, exception handling, and governor-limit management.
- Demonstrated Lightning Web Component development experience with strong modern JavaScript fundamentals, including ES6+, promises, async/await, and DOM concepts; Aura experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce’s data and security model, including objects and relationships, record types, profiles, permission sets, organization-wide defaults, sharing rules, Apex sharing, and field-level security.
- Strong declarative Salesforce automation skills, particularly Salesforce Flow, with the ability to determine when configuration is preferable to custom development.
- Experience designing and implementing integrations using REST/JSON APIs, OAuth 2.0, JWT bearer flows, and Named Credentials.
- Practical experience with source-driven Salesforce development using Salesforce DX, Git, pull-request-based code review, and CI/CD platforms such as Gearset, Copado, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent tools.
- Experience delivering projects using Agile methodologies and Jira or a comparable work-management platform.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within 90 days of hire.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. federal security clearance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions and tradeoffs to non-technical government stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with OmniStudio technologies, including OmniScript, FlexCards, Integration Procedures, and DataRaptors.
- Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred and may accelerate onboarding.
- Prior federal or public-sector Salesforce delivery experience, particularly within Government Cloud or Government Cloud Plus, is highly desirable.
Benefits:
- Annual salary range of $106,000–$176,000, with compensation determined by factors such as skills, experience, training, security clearance, certifications, and organizational needs.
- Comprehensive total rewards package with flexible benefits options.
- Medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance.
- Company-paid holidays and personal and family sick time.
- Potential eligibility for a discretionary variable incentive bonus.
- Parental leave and adoption assistance.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Basic and supplemental life insurance.
- Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account options, including dependent care.
- Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
- Student loan paydown assistance.
- Tuition reimbursement and personal development opportunities.
- Skills development programs and certification support.
- Employee referral program and corporate-sponsored events.
- Community outreach opportunities.
- Emergency backup childcare program.
- Mobility stipend.
- Remote work environment with travel of up to approximately 10%.
- Opportunity to contribute to complex, mission-focused Salesforce programs serving government stakeholders.
- Exposure to modern Salesforce architecture, cloud integrations, CI/CD, and secure public-sector technology delivery.
