The Business Research Analyst collaborates closely with the Sales Coordinator and Real Estate Advisors, driving macro-level research at both the regional and country level. The role focuses on identifying high-growth industry sectors and pinpointing high-potential companies through structured market research and commercial intelligence. By analysing industries, companies, investors, market trends, and expansion opportunities across East Africa and internationally, the Business Research Analyst builds a robust pipeline of qualified corporate prospects.
The Business Analyst delivers actionable insights that empower Real Estate Advisors to connect with high-quality prospects, while supporting the development of data-driven sales strategies.
Responsibilities will include:
- Market Research - Conduct continuous research on: target industries, growth sectors, economic trends, investment flows, manufacturing expansion, logistics growth, retail expansion, data centres, FMCG, pharmaceutical companies, regional investment policies, SEZ developments, infrastructure investments.
- Company Intelligence- Develop comprehensive company profiles including revenue, ownership, geographic footprint, existing facilities, planned expansions, financial strength, etc.
- Lead Generation- Generate qualified opportunities through building databases.
- Industry Intelligence- Prepare: Monthly Industry Reports, Market Opportunity Reports, Sector Analysis, Competitor Analysis, Country Investment Briefs, Client Demand Reports, Client Profiles.
- Sales Support- Support by: preparing prospect briefs, providing benchmark data, supporting financial modelling, providing SEZ intelligence, researching comparable transactions, supporting proposal preparation, preparing client meeting briefs.
- Market Intelligence Database- Maintain databases covering the leading industry players and stakeholders
- Event Participation- Represent the company at investment forums, trade missions, industry conferences.
- Produce Monthly Industry Intelligence Report, Weekly Market Updates, Target Company Database, Decision Maker Database, Country Opportunity Reports, Competitor Analysis, Sector Deep-Dive Reports, Transaction Tracker, Market Opportunity Maps.
- Decision Maker Mapping.
Skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Financial Analysis, Mathematics, Physics, Real Estate, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- 4–7 years in market research, business intelligence, strategy consulting, corporate finance or commercial real estate research.
- Strong financial modelling experience (Excel or modelling software).
- Experience in B2B market analysis and investment research.
- Knowledge of industrial and commercial property markets across Africa is highly desirable.
