Position Summary:
The Senior Technical Project Manager will lead complex, cross-functional software, hardware, and integrated product development programs from concept through delivery, partnering with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and executive stakeholders across global teams. This role is responsible for end-to-end program execution, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, governance, and executive communications, while driving alignment with business strategy and product roadmaps. The position will establish program visibility through integrated schedules, KPIs, dashboards, and phase-gate reviews, while continuously improving delivery predictability, engineering efficiency, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise across software, hardware, embedded systems, and networking products, along with experience leading large global technical teams and applying Agile, Scrum, PDLC, and modern AI-enabled project management practices.
Position requirements:
Program Leadership & Delivery
- 12+ years of experience leading complex software, hardware, and integrated product development programs within global technology organizations.
- Demonstrated success delivering large, cross-functional technical programs through Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC), Agile, Scrum, and phase-gate methodologies.
- Leads multiple concurrent strategic development initiatives spanning engineering, product management, operations, supply chain, and commercial organizations.
- Owns end-to-end program execution, including scope, schedule, financial management, resource planning, risk management, dependency management, and executive communications.
- Develops and maintains integrated master schedules supporting multiple engineering teams, product releases, and strategic business initiatives.
- Successfully delivers programs involving globally distributed engineering organizations across multiple time zones.
Strategic Leadership
- Partners with senior leadership to align project execution with business strategy, product roadmaps, and organizational priorities.
- Establishes program governance, executive reporting, KPIs, and portfolio dashboards that provide visibility into schedule, financial performance, resource utilization, and delivery risks.
- Leads executive phase-gate reviews, portfolio planning sessions, and steering committee meetings.
- Drives continuous improvement initiatives that increase delivery predictability, engineering efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.
- Champions adoption of modern project management practices, Agile methodologies, and AI-enabled project and development workflows.
- Builds trusted partnerships with Engineering, Product Management, Executive Leadership, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Account teams.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Influences strategic decisions by effectively communicating project status, technical tradeoffs, financial impacts, resource requirements, and business risks.
- Leads complex cross-functional discussions that balance competing priorities while maintaining alignment with business objectives.
Risk, Financial & Resource Management
- Proactively identifies technical, operational, financial, and organizational risks while driving mitigation strategies.
- Owns formal change control processes that protect project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Performs resource forecasting and capacity planning across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Manages large program budgets and monitors financial performance throughout project execution.
- Leads root cause investigations and implements corrective actions that improve long-term execution performance
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Strong understanding of modern software development practices including Agile, Scrum, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and cloud-based development environments.
- Experience managing software, hardware, embedded systems, and integrated product development programs is a must.
- Experience operating within Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulated product development environments.
- Experience within telecommunications, broadband access networks, fiber technologies, or networking products is highly desirable.
- Experience supporting global engineering organizations with 50+ technical contributors.
- Experience managing third-party development partners and strategic suppliers.
- Experience with executive-level business reviews and C-level presentations.
- Experience driving digital transformation and organizational change initiatives.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, and product lifecycle management (PLM).
