Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP, Cloud Product Manager will be responsible for leading our AWS Cloud Migration Program, driving the strategic vision, planning, and execution of application migrations to the cloud. This role requires a blend of product leadership, technical acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful delivery of cloud transformation initiatives that align with business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Product Vision and Strategy:
  • Define and communicate the product vision and strategy for cloud based products and services.
  • Align product strategy with business objectives and enterprise cloud strategy.
  • Product Roadmap and Prioritization:
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on business value and customer feedback.
  • Ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with the product strategy.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to ensure successful product development and delivery.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment with product goals.
  • Manage diverse IT teams consisting of application engineers, designers, and outsourced vendors.  
  • Evangelize for autonomous, self-organizing, empowered, and continuously improving teams. 
  • Product Development and Delivery:
  • Oversee the product development process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of products and features.
  • Maintain Jira Align based on assigned Epics and Features 
  • Ensure adherence of all compliance and corporate governance policies throughout the implementation.
  • Customer Focus and Feedback:
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product decisions and improvements.
  • Ensure cloud products meet customer needs and deliver positive user experiences.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Monitor product performance, usage, and adoption metrics.
  • Develop and present regular reports on technical product performance, customer feedback, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Clearly articulate challenges, progress and opportunities
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance product processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of IT experience, OR in lieu of a Degree minimum of 14 years of experience in an IT environment
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a large complex organization 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product management or a related field, with experience in cloud-based products or infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of AWS, Containerization, Dev/Infra Ops practices, and application migration/modernization.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute strategic product roadmaps in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, managing PI increments, feature planning and reviews.
  • Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to lead without authority, manage ambiguity, and influence others to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail along with negotiated solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform product decisions and measure success.
  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification  
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to direct technical teams and mentor/coach team members
  • Credit card, consumer finance, payments, financial services, or retail services industry experience. 
  • Demonstrated solutions delivery experience, with relevant examples that improved performance and customer experience 
  • Knowledgeable on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies, and companies technical knowledge (financial services) customer experience focus Proactive, self-starter and collaborative leader 
  • Strong business acumen and superior decision-making skills 
  • Familiarity with data encryption/PII data protection standards, and related technologies. 
  • Creativity, enthusiasm and energy with a strong customer "can do" attitude and result oriented. 

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 170,000.00 - 290,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Our Way of Working:

We’re proud to offer you flexibility. At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
