WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major Aircraft Hangar Development Project in Riyadh. Acting as the Project Management Consultant (PMC), the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and management of the project from design through construction and handover. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical expertise to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the PMC team throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead proactive schedule management and critical path oversight using integrated project controls, combining planning, scheduling, cost, risk, and performance data to drive informed decision-making, optimize project outcomes, mitigate delays, and ensure timely delivery of key project milestones.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the client, contractors, designers, and key stakeholders.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Review and approve project execution plans, construction methodologies, and recovery plans.
- Ensure the project is delivered in accordance with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements.
- Manage design coordination activities and resolve technical and commercial issues.
- Lead progress review meetings and provide strategic direction to project teams.
- Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Review and monitor project KPIs, milestones, and overall performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable aviation, building, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee change management processes, variation reviews, and claims assessments.
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure effective coordination between all disciplines, contractors, and specialist suppliers.
- Review and approve project reports, dashboards, and executive presentations.
- Support procurement, tender evaluations, and contractor selection processes where required.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Manage the successful project handover, close-out, and lessons learned process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of total experience in project management and construction delivery.
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager or Project Director on large-scale building or aviation projects.
- Proven experience delivering aircraft hangars, airport facilities, aviation infrastructure, military facilities, or complex industrial developments.
- Previous experience working within a PMC/PMCM consultancy environment is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple contractors.
- Strong understanding of international construction standards and project delivery best practices.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PgMP, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
