Responsibilities:
- Serves as a senior data engineer on the Palantir Foundry (Army Vantage) team migrating legacy U.S. Army enterprise data into production-grade pipelines, ontologies, and applications
- Designs, builds, and maintains production-grade data pipelines, data connections, and ontologies in Palantir Foundry
- Develops transforms on structured (tabular) and unstructured datasets, applying best practices for pipeline design, maintainability, and performance
- Sets up Data Connection sources and syncs to ingest tabular data and raw files from external systems into Foundry
- Provides data engineering context during ontology design and implements the pipelines backing ontology objects and links based on application requirements
- Investigates and fixes pipeline issues, and contributes logic changes and performance improvements to transform pipelines feeding mission-critical workflows
- Partners with engineers, program managers, and domain specialists to synthesize disparate data into an actionable roadmap and move rapidly from use case to prototype to scaled deployment
- Works with legacy-system SMEs and testers to re-implement legacy transformation logic in Foundry and support source-to-target reconciliation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience, including proven hands-on delivery in Palantir Foundry
- Advanced Palantir Foundry experience building pipelines, managing datasets, and deploying applications, including:
- Production-grade data pipelines, data connections, and ontologies
- Transforms on structured and unstructured datasets, including troubleshooting
- Data Connection sources and syncs for tabular data and raw files
- Pipelines that back ontology objects and links
- Advanced Python programming skills, with a demonstrated ability to build production-grade code that leverages both structured and unstructured datasets
- Strong foundation in machine learning
- Willingness to travel as needed for client implementation work
- Create, modify, and test the code, forms, and script that allow computer applications to run. Work from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals
- Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
- Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives. Has domain and expert technical knowledge
- Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met
- Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
- Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation
- May supervise others
- An active Secret security clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Palantir Foundry certification (Data Engineer track preferred)
- Experience with PySpark, SQL, and TypeScript in Foundry
- Experience with Palantir AIP
- Experience migrating data from legacy Oracle or other relational systems into Foundry or Army Vantage
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification
