Job Duties

Halliburton Energy Services – Landmark Software Services. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, usability, and performance of next-generation visualization platforms and applications used across Halliburton Landmark products.

The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product owners, designers, and domain experts to validate complex visualization workflows involving 2D and 3D graphics, engineering data, geospatial datasets, rendering systems, and cloud-native services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate oil and gas domain workflows involving wells, maps, seismic interpretation, engineering data, and scientific visualizations.
  • Participate as an active QA member within Agile teams to deliver high-quality software increments.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Validate functionality, usability, performance, and reliability of visualization-focused applications.
  • Test complex workflows involving 2D and 3D rendering, scientific data visualization, engineering datasets, and interactive user experiences.
  • Verify integration between frontend visualization applications and backend services, APIs, databases, and data pipelines.
  • Validate rendering accuracy, visual consistency, user interactions, and application behavior across supported environments.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, smoke, and user acceptance testing.
  • Execute performance and scalability testing for graphics-intensive and data-intensive applications.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot issues and verify defect resolutions.
  • Set up, maintain, and manage test environments, test datasets, and validation workflows.
  • Participate in Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to QA process improvements, test automation initiatives, and quality best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5–8 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated/manual test suites for visualization-focused web applications.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, smoke, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Validate 2D/3D graphics, rendering accuracy, camera controls, user interactions, and graphics performance across supported platforms.
  • Test applications involving GIS, maps, spatial data, large engineering/scientific datasets, or real-time visualization workflows.
  • Verify integration between frontend visualization applications, REST APIs, backend services, databases, and cloud-native components.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools, and collaborate closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Experience with test automation using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or similar frameworks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with modern graphics and visualization technologies such as WebGL, Three.js, Unity, Unreal Engine, MapLibre, ArcGIS, GeoServer, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
  • Experience testing graphics-intensive applications in the Gaming, GIS, CAD, Simulation, Scientific Visualization, or Oil & Gas industries is highly desirable.Desired Experience
