Job Overview
All South Consulting Engineers is seeking a dedicated Construction Project Manager (CPM) to join our Construction Management Division. This role will oversee large-scale commercial construction and municipal infrastructure construction projects ranging from vertical construction to roadway improvements and utility installations to water, wastewater, and stormwater systems in the Greater New Orleans Region.
The ideal candidate will ensure seamless delivery from design through execution, with a strong emphasis on quality, schedule, costs and client satisfaction. This position requires technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
What You’ll Do • Plan and Schedule Projects: Project planning including timelines and milestones, to ensure timely completion. Work closely with design team to review plans for constructability, ensuring designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with client objectives.
- Manage Budgets: Review project budgets and track costs to maintain financial efficiency. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to keep projects within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Oversee Contracts: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contractor contracts. Ensure all parties comply with contractual terms, addressing any discrepancies to maintain project alignment and legal compliance. Review and evaluate construction schedules, work plans, and project deliverables. Prepare and negotiate contract modifications, amendments, and field directives.
- Coordinate Stakeholders: Serve as the central point of contact, facilitating clear and consistent communication among clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams. Proactively resolve conflicts and ensure all parties are aligned on project goals and progress. Coordinate construction activities between contractors, owners, utility companies, and regulatory agencies. Conduct project meetings and provide progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Supervise Sites: Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks to verify compliance and address issues promptly. Serve as the Engineer's Representative during construction.,
- Review shop drawings submittals, RFIs, and change order requests. Perform field inspections and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
- Mitigate Risks: Identify potential project risks, such as delays or safety concerns, and develop proactive mitigation strategies. Ensure strict compliance with, safety, and environmental regulations, including local Louisiana codes.
• Document and Report: Maintain accurate, detailed records of project progress, changes, and issues. Provide regular, concise reports to clients and senior management, ensuring transparency and keeping stakeholders informed of project status. Coordinate project closeout activities, punch lists, and final acceptance documentation.
What We’re Looking For • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of construction project management experience.
- Knowledge of construction methods, and Louisiana building codes, permitting, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software.
- Strong communication, leadership, and multitasking skills.
