About the business/role/team

The RBA is looking for a Network Engineer with Cisco networking and firewall experience who is keen to further develop their cyber security, automation and cloud capabilities.

The RBA is currently on a journey towards Software Defined Networking, and your skills and experience will be leveraged and enhanced to support key next-generation technologies, including ACI, Zero Trust Networking, Software Defined Access (SDA), SD-WAN and Azure Cloud.

Reporting to the Network Services Support Team Lead, you will be part of the Network Services team within the Infrastructure Services section of IT.

In this role, you will provide expert network management, troubleshooting and optimisation services, while delivering a strong customer focused and service oriented approach.

About the role

  • Undertake the provisioning, maintenance, security hardening, capacity planning and performance testing of network (data, storage) systems infrastructure
  • Participate in 2nd line IT incident and security response capability for network infrastructure
  • Produce design, automation scripts, technical documentation, reports, and records regarding infrastructure solutions
  • Improve, harden, test, implement, monitor, and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues
  • Manage the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance and security improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate
  • Undertake acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment
  • Occasional scheduled work at our Business Resumption Site at Bella Vista will be required
  • Work with cyber security team to improve Bank’s protections and remediate vulnerabilities

About you

  • Degree preferred in IT coupled with Industry accreditations in Cisco and ITIL
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cisco networking infrastructure covering both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs)
  • Experience with Firewalls Cisco and/or Palo Alto and applicable management tools to manage such as Cisco Security Manager (CSM)
  • Proficient in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation
  • Experience or willingness to learn: Python and relevant scripting languages to automate activities.
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure and service management practices.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn: Network management tools such as Cisco DNA Centre, Statseeker and Infoblox
  • Cisco ACI experience is desirable
