Job Title: Java Backend Developer Location: Whippany / Wilmington,  New Jersey  Employment Type: Long-Term Contract Work Setting: Hybrid 2-3 days onsite a week

Interview mode: Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join a long-term development team in Whippany, NJ. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, and cloud technologies, particularly OpenShift, along with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing.

The developer will contribute to application development, enhancement, testing, deployment, and maintenance while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java. 
  • Develop backend services and applications using Spring Boot. 
  • Contribute to frontend development using React. 
  • Develop and integrate applications using cloud technologies, including OpenShift. 
  • Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
  • Analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 
  • Perform unit, integration, and application testing. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues. 
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, architects, and other stakeholders. 
  • Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices. 
  • Support application deployment and maintenance activities. 

Required Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java. 
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot. 
  • Experience with React. 
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies, particularly OpenShift. 
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes. 
  • Experience with software/application testing. 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
