This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Designer based in Canada.
This is an opportunity to shape intuitive, high-impact experiences across a sophisticated portfolio of B2B payment products. You will own end-to-end design initiatives spanning both new product experiences and improvements to established payment gateway workflows. The role combines strategic product thinking, user research, interaction design, visual craft, and systems thinking. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, merchants, partners, and other stakeholders to turn complex technical requirements into clear and accessible experiences. You will also help advance design systems and introduce AI-assisted workflows that accelerate prototyping, research, and exploration. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys solving complex problems, and can balance user needs, business outcomes, accessibility, and technical feasibility.

Accountabilities
- Lead end-to-end product design initiatives, from journey mapping and user flows through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.
- Design both greenfield experiences and improvements to existing payment gateway products, helping create intuitive workflows for complex B2B use cases.
- Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and external validation with partners and merchants to uncover insights and continuously improve product experiences.
- Translate research findings and user needs into actionable design solutions and communicate design rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Build, maintain, and evolve scalable design systems that promote consistency, efficiency, and a cohesive experience across products.
- Benchmark product experiences against competitors and industry standards to identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring designs are both user-centered and technically feasible.
- Use AI-assisted tools such as Figma AI, v0, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar technologies to accelerate research synthesis, prototyping, ideation, and design exploration.
- Simplify complex payment, API, financial, and transaction concepts into clear and accessible user experiences.
- Apply accessibility principles, including WCAG standards, to product experiences and regulated payment workflows.
- Contribute to customer-facing materials, conference initiatives, and other design projects that support product engagement and adoption.
- Help advance product design practices by bringing a strategic perspective, a strong point of view, and a focus on measurable user and business impact.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience designing B2B digital products or complex software systems, supported by a strong portfolio demonstrating design process, breadth, and measurable impact.
- Experience designing financial products, APIs, transaction systems, payment gateways, fintech platforms, or comparable B2B SaaS products is strongly preferred.
- Strong product design capabilities across interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, and end-to-end user journeys.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience creating and maintaining scalable design systems.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing and translating findings into effective product decisions.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, including WCAG, and their application to digital and regulated workflows.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience using AI tools such as v0, Cursor, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Figma AI, or similar technologies to improve design, research, or prototyping workflows.
- Ability to simplify complex technical and payment concepts into intuitive experiences for diverse audiences.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to present design decisions confidently to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, engineering, research, business, and external partners.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and independently identifying opportunities to improve products and processes.
- Understanding of technical constraints, API-driven workflows, and the needs of developer, merchant, and partner audiences is an advantage.
- Experience designing onboarding, transaction monitoring, merchant, partner, or payment experiences is a plus.
- Familiarity with service design techniques such as journey mapping and service blueprints is desirable.
- Experience bringing multiple products or platforms together through a cohesive design system is an additional advantage.
