Position: Project Manager / Engineer
Location: Corporate
Reports To: Vice President of Engineering
Classification: Exempt - Salaried
Summary/Objective
The Project Management role requires a highly motivated and organized team player who can plan, design and execute project activities on time and within budget goals while maintaining a strong customer focus. The Technical Support role requires a team-oriented demeanor that can receive unresolved technical issues escalated from sales and/or service departments, impart troubleshooting guidance toward resolution and translate escalated issues into corrective actions with principals and/or internal training needs.
Essential Functions:
- Assist sales to design and develop specifications and drawings, equipment selections and material/labor cost estimates for strategic and custom projects including industrial, petro-chemical, combined heat and power and power steam systems.
- Review/prepare sales estimates and/or drawing and proposal packages that are for design engineers use or out to bid and prepare material, labor and misc. material estimates along with any exceptions/clarifications to our proposal in comparison to the job bid documents.
- Assist sales process with Technical and/or Project Management customer presentations.
- Sales assistance and project support will require travel and overnight stays as needed.
- Prepare mechanical, electrical, piping and control drawings with AutoCAD and some Solid Works as needed in response to successful bid.
- Prepare submittal packages including catalogue cut sheets for all items used on the packaged assemblies.
- Review approved submittals and make all corrections as noted to conform the package system to the job/reviewed submittal requirements.
- Develop and/or supervise development of construction drawings as needed!
- Assist with the construction of the system as needed to maintain schedule, budget, and design integrity.
- Develop “as-built” documentation and drawings including Operation and Maintenance Manuals
- Provide after-shipment support as needed for successful system commissioning.
- Develop and maintain key mechanical contractor relationships with respective contractor service/project critical contacts.
- Serve as the senior Technical Support resource supporting escalated field troubleshooting efforts.
- Serve as Technical representative, alongside other RFM site representation, to liaise with principals regarding product problem resolution and/or product improvements.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is largely a deskbound role; however, filing, correlating, reproduction and binding materials are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, climb stairs, and prepare training and meeting rooms/spaces as necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, listen, bend, squat, walk, lift, pull, push, and climb stairs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional travel work as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel may be required for this position to customer and RFMCo. sites with out-of-area and possible overnight travel expected.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in ME, or related discipline preferred or Associate degree and 4 – 7 years of relevant project management experience; or 7 years of relevant project management experience.
- 5 years’ experience in project management/estimating.
- Ability to perform diversified clerical functions and working knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and accounting software systems.)
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
