Job Description:

We are currently looking for a System Engineer – CCTV & Security Systems to join Hitachi Rail GTS in Portugal.

A CCTV & Security Systems Engineer is responsible for:

  • Formalise the specifications and engineering plans used to develop the solution/product.
  • Assemble the solution/product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behaviour, interactions and performance, ensuring compliance with system requirements.
  • Demonstrate that the solution/product satisfies the approved operational needs and is ready for production, testing, installation, operation and support.
  • Plan and coordinate subsystem development activities within the agreed architecture and design constraints, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company processes.
  • Act as the project-wide technical interface for CCTV and Security Systems matters, ensuring subsystem interfaces are defined, consistent and complete.
  • Manage Technical Requirements within his/her domain.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design, configuration, installation and testing documents.
  • Provide technical expertise during Design Reviews with internal teams and customers.
  • Support the definition of Operations & Maintenance activities.
  • Perform IVVQ activities, including system configuration, verification, validation and FAT tests.
  • Support onsite installation activities.
  • Perform T&C activities, including system start-up, on-site configuration and acceptance testing.
  • Support configuration control and management in conjunction with the Configuration Manager.
  • Prepare training documentation and provide technical training when required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement process through Lessons Learned activities.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Education & Qualifications: Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience (2-3 years) in CCTV and Security Systems engineering and integration.
  • Ability to read architectural drawings.
  • Knowledge of CCTV, Video Management and Security Systems.
  • Experience with CAD and Visio tools (preferred).
  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN networks (preferred).
  • Experience with Virtual Machines and Active Directory environments (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Genetec Systems is considered an advantage.
  • High competency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English (mandatory) and French (preferred).
  • Availability to travel and support onsite activities.
