Full description

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer for the Corporate Technology data platform, you will be a senior individual contributor responsible for architecting, building, and operating data platform capabilities that enable secure, scalable, and reliable data products. You will provide technical leadership, drive engineering excellence, and partner across technology, product, controls, and business teams to deliver measurable outcomes across JPMorganChase.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for key data platform capabilities including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, metadata, lineage, and data quality.
  • Design and implement scalable platform services and reusable frameworks that standardize data onboarding, curation, and consumption.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery for complex initiatives or major workstreams from discovery and architecture through build, rollout, and production readiness.
  • Establish and apply engineering standards for resiliency, performance, observability, capacity management, and cost efficiency within your platform area.
  • Lead and/or participate in design reviews and contribute reference architectures, patterns, and guardrails used by partner engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain automation for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, policy as code, and repeatable onboarding to reduce operational toil.
  • Drive operational excellence through SLOs, monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement for services you own.
  • Partner with security, risk, and controls stakeholders to ensure platform solutions meet regulatory, audit, and data governance requirements.
  • Communicate trade-offs, risks, and progress to stakeholders using clear narratives, metrics, and outcomes.
  • Mentor and raise the bar for engineering practices through hands-on leadership, code reviews, and technical community engagement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Significant experience delivering large-scale software platforms or data platforms in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong distributed systems and platform engineering expertise including reliability, scalability, fault tolerance, and service design.
  • Hands-on experience with data platform domains such as batch and streaming ingestion, orchestration, data processing, and data serving patterns.
  • Proven ability to build production-grade systems with robust testing, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational controls.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance and control concepts including access management, encryption, retention, auditability, and privacy.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and strong API and systems design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence as a senior individual contributor across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Proven track record of being a highly motivated self-starter.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience building self-service platform products and improving developer experience through portals, templates, and golden paths.
  • Experience operating platforms in cloud and containerized environments with infrastructure automation.
  • Experience implementing metadata-driven architectures and standardized data product patterns.
  • Experience building controls for sensitive data including data classification, policy enforcement, and privacy-by-design.
  • Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
