JOB PURPOSE:
As a part of DP World’s strategy of making global trade flow, we are investing in products that will digitize the logistics ecosystem, and provide services which will create stickiness importers and exporters to use DP World services. The digital products that we are building are expected to drive billions in revenue, with a high gross margin over the next 3-5 years, and scale exponentially thereafter.
To that end, DP World is investing in a suite of digital tools called Cargoes. Some of these tools are
- Cargoes Logistics for end to end logistics booking, tracking, invoicing and payments
- Cargoes Runner as an ERP for internal and external Freight Forwarding
- Cargoes Flow for end to end visibility into global trade
- Cargoes Finance for getting access to working capital from financial institutions
- Cargoes Community for transporters, importers, exporters to interact with ocean terminals
- Cargoes Customs for digitizing customs operations
Over the last 2 years, these products and solutions have been developed with an MVP approach, and DP World is in the process of scaling and deploying these across 60+ countries. Each of these products are complex, each product has dozens of microservices, with various workflows, and in addition to enabling the business, they are expected to attract and drive the business.
In this complex application landscape consisting of 100s of microservices, it is important to rationalize software architecture, draw ownership boundaries between various software development teams, keep an eye on preventing duplication of efforts, ensure “build once use many times”, drive operational and software excellence across all teams.
We are looking exceptionally business-savvy and technology-savvy product managers to lead these efforts to scope and design products to meet our objectives. You need to be flexible and entrepreneurial, comfortable operating with ambiguity and willing to develop quick proof of concepts. You are passionate about the potential customer and societal impact and will operate at all levels, diving deep into the details while providing strategic inputs for the product. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively with cross-functional peers, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into high quality, exciting, and simple products and experiences.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Understand overarching objectives of DP World, translate them into new customer facing products to help generate revenue and bottom line
- Perform competitive benchmark analysis, analyze customer needs, look at surveys and quantitative data to come up with the right judgement of product and feature investments
- Socialize the product ideas and key decisions in strategic discussions and ideation sessions with business leaders; form productive and trusting relationships with them.
- Work with junior product managers to effectively delegate tasks, and ensure the coming together of features for a holistic product, not just across technology, but across sales, operations, finance and commercial
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specs, and aggressively unblock the engineer teams to execute fast
- Define a thoughtful, detailed, and executable rollout strategy for new features, releases, and products.
- Write business cases, perform ROIs, and prioritize and write user stories; partner with product development team to break things down and plan them into releases.
- Cultivate product positioning and benefit statements, partnering with the marketing and communication team to create collateral that generates excitement and makes it easy for our potential customers to adopt and understand the benefits.
- Measure the performance of product launches and iterate to success
- Focus on building value for our business, not just features; develop innovative and unique product offerings by leveraging knowledge of the key market challenges that already exist in competitor products.
- Facilitate cross-functional communication and decision-making, while also developing key stakeholder relationships in various locations.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Technology.
- MBA with Supply Chain work or ecommerce experience a big plus. 8-10 years of product management experience in technology companies with background in international trade, ecommerce, & logistics.
- Ability to think strategically yet being in the details.
- Working and influencing across a diverse group of people and personalities, both internal and external, and bring the product to fruition and add business value.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, form clear thoughts, and push forward.
- Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, and prioritize with sound judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to turn customer needs and pain points into innovative products. Experience incorporating product and operations feedback to craft long term vision and quarterly roadmaps.
- Business acumen and curiosity to learn and become an expert on a complex product
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial.
