Full description

We are looking for an experienced Software Function Developer to design, implement and verify control strategies for embedded engine control systems.

You will develop functionality for future combustion engine concepts and implement production-ready solutions in electronic control units (ECUs). Working closely with hardware, calibration and optimization specialists, you will contribute throughout the development lifecycle—from advanced engineering and concept development to industrialization and ongoing product improvements.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and develop control strategies for combustion engine systems.
  • Implement and verify embedded control functionality using MATLAB, Simulink and TargetLink.
  • Translate system requirements into robust control models and software solutions.
  • Collaborate with hardware and calibration teams to achieve system performance objectives.
  • Investigate complex system issues and deliver improvements and quality fixes.
  • Contribute to development activities within a small, agile team working with colleagues across international sites.

Your background

  • A master’s degree in Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Several years of experience designing and implementing control strategies in embedded control systems.
  • A strong understanding of control theory, model-based design and embedded software development.
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink; familiarity with TargetLink is beneficial.
  • Good written and spoken English.

Your approach

You enjoy solving complex engineering problems and take initiative to move work forward. You collaborate effectively within your team and across disciplines, communicate clearly and contribute to shared goals in a global, agile environment.
