The Role
As a Quality Assurance Analyst at BRIGHTSCOUT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and flawless execution of our digital experiences—across both websites and applications. You will be responsible for rigorously testing visually compelling websites, interactive applications, and digital products to ensure they meet functional requirements, maintain visual and operational integrity, and deliver an exceptional user experience. Your work will go beyond identifying bugs; you will be a champion for quality, ensuring every product functions seamlessly, looks impeccable, and delivers value—particularly in the B2B space where clarity, usability, and performance are essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough functional testing of websites and applications, ensuring all features, interactions, APIs, and user flows operate as intended and meet project requirements.
- Perform visual and UX testing across various platforms, browsers, and devices to guarantee consistent, pixel-perfect implementation according to design specifications (primarily Figma mockups).
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business requirements, design specs, and user stories—for both web and application projects.
- Identify, document, and track bugs, edge cases, and inconsistencies using a bug tracking system, providing clear steps to reproduce and collaborating to ensure timely resolution.
- Work closely with Designers, Developers, and Project Managers to understand both design intent and technical functionality, and to provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
- Verify cross-platform performance and responsiveness, ensuring smooth functionality across browsers, screen sizes, devices (including mobile), and operating systems.
- Participate in design and technical reviews to assess testability, usability, and risk, advocating for best practices in quality and performance.
- Support backend and frontend testing efforts, including form validations, data integrity, authentication flows, and integration points.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in QA tools, processes, and standards for testing web and software applications.
- Clearly communicate testing progress, findings, potential risks, and recommended fixes to stakeholders and project teams.
- Support client handoffs by ensuring final products meet the highest functional and visual standards.
- (Bonus) Develop and maintain automated test scripts for repetitive checks, regression testing, and continuous integration workflows.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance for both websites and web applications, preferably in a digital agency or fast-paced product environment.
- Strong grasp of how websites and applications work, including user interface behavior and basic backend interactions such as APIs, form validations, and login flows.
- Proven ability to execute visual QA against design specifications (e.g., Figma), identifying layout, spacing, and responsiveness issues.
- Hands-on experience creating and executing test plans, user scenarios, and test cases for multi-platform applications.
- Experience with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, capable of translating technical and visual feedback clearly to various teams.
- Detail-oriented and methodical, with a proactive mindset toward identifying, isolating, and solving issues.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while maintaining a structured, thorough approach to QA.
- (Bonus) Experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
- Familiarity with tools like Figma and Postman is a plus for evaluating design fidelity and API testing.
