Full description

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Automotive Customer Project Manager (CPM) to lead complex Tier1 and OEM projects in the ADAS and Cockpit / IVI domain. The role requires strong ownership, technical project-management discipline, and the ability to drive cross-functional execution across customer teams, software and hardware engineering, FAEs, sales, commercial stakeholders and senior management.

You will act as the central interface for customer-facing SoC programs, ensuring clear project structure, reliable follow-up, transparent risk management and timely escalation where needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer project execution for automotive SoC programs in ADAS, Cockpit, IVI, camera and AI/vision domains.
  • Act as primary project-management interface to Tier1 and OEM customers.
  • Coordinate internal HW, SW, FAE, sales, business, quality and commercial stakeholders.
  • Drive milestone tracking, issue closure, risk mitigation and management escalation.
  • Manage complex customer topics such as software integration, SDK/platform migration, safety deliverables, performance gaps, release timing and change requests.
  • Ensure clear ownership, target dates and action tracking across all project workstreams.
  • Support RFQ/RFI activities, requirement clarification, deviation handling and customer award-readiness.
  • Prepare concise project status, risk summaries and executive-level decision proposals.
  • Maintain structured project documentation, meeting notes, risk trackers and decision logs.

Required Profile

  • Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering or equivalent.
  • Several years of project-management experience in automotive semiconductor, embedded systems, ADAS, Cockpit, IVI or software platform projects.
  • Proven experience working with Tier1 and/or OEM customers.
  • Solid understanding of embedded HW/SW development, software integration and automotive release processes.
  • Strong ownership mindset: proactive, persistent, structured and closure oriented.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional teams without formal line authority.
  • Excellent communication skills with engineers, customers and senior management.
  • Strong risk, issue, milestone and escalation management skills.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or comparable project-management qualification.
  • German language skills.
  • Korean language skills or experience with Korean Tier1/OEM customers.
  • Experience with automotive SoCs, SDKs, AUTOSAR, Linux, QNX, Android, camera frameworks or AI/vision software.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and structured Excel-based tracking.

Ideal Candidate

You are not a passive coordinator. You take ownership, create transparency, challenge unclear assumptions and drive topics to closure. You can translate technical complexity into clear project actions and management decisions, while maintaining customer trust and protecting realistic scope, schedule and commercial boundaries.

Success in This Role Means

  • Customer programs are transparent, structured and under control.
  • Risks are identified early and mitigated before milestone impact.
  • Technical, schedule and commercial issues have clear owners and closure plans.
  • Tier1/OEM stakeholders see Renesas as reliable, responsive and well organized.
  • Internal teams receive clear priorities, decisions and escalation support.
