Job Description
The candidate will be responsible for transforming complex business needs into robust, scalable, and analysis-ready data structures within the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
The primary focus lies in semantic interpretation and modeling—ensuring data is prepared for autonomous business consumption and served as valuable assets for decision-making. Additionally, this position involves adapting data structures for advanced use cases, such as AI agents.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Preparation & Transformation: Design and implementation of efficient ETL/ELT processes.
- BigQuery Development: Query optimization, partition management, and application of business logic within the Data Warehouse.
- Data Modeling: Application of dimensional modeling techniques (Star Schema / Snowflake).
- Requirements Translation: Direct interaction with stakeholders to capture needs and translate business questions into data models.
- Quality & Validation: Ensuring data consistency and integrity through testing and rigorous documentation.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Ability to convey messaging, explain, and document technical developments for training teams, enabling smooth adoption of created solutions.
Nice-to-Have:
- Semantic Layer (LookerML): Development and maintenance of models in LookerML, defining dimensions and measures for self-service BI.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in SQL
- Experience in GCP (BigQuery)
- Proficiency in Looker / LookerML
- Dimensional data modeling
- Version control (Git)
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with dbt (data build tool)
- Knowledge of Python
- Orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
- Experience in Retail / E-commerce
- Google Cloud Certifications
Business & Analytical Skills (Mandatory)
- Strong Comprehension: Ability to quickly understand business dynamics and translate them into metrics and KPIs.
- Stakeholder Interaction: Experience working directly with departments such as Product, Finance, or Operations.
- Critical Thinking: Capability to challenge incomplete or inconsistent requirements.
- Analytical Mindset: Focus on problem-solving and final delivery quality for the end user.
Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in Data or Business Intelligence.
- Proven track record in Cloud environments (especially GCP).
- Demonstrated experience in gathering and refining requirements alongside business teams.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills (explaining data concepts to non-technical stakeholders).
- High attention to detail and rigor.
- Proactivity and a strong sense of ownership over projects.
- Ability to work autonomously without micro-management.
