Position Overview
The Global Product Manager position at Rapid Micro Biosystems oversees the global strategic initiatives (marketing, customer, and internal activities) related to our flagship Growth Direct® platform’s Consumables & Applications. This person will be the voice for the consumables and applications – Environmental Monitoring, Water, Product Bioburden, Sterility and new markets, driving and managing key activities to ensure product success. This person will lead the profit and loss (P&L) for RMB’s consumables offerings and serve as a key interface between the Commercial, Quality, and Operations groups to deliver high-quality products to our customers.
The position combines technical expertise and tactical execution with strategic planning in areas such as market strategy, new product development and launches, customer applications initiatives, brand positioning and messaging, and operational excellence.
This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite at either our Lowell or Lexington location.

Essential Job Functions
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Achieve & exceed revenue, growth, and profitability targets for Growth Direct® consumables
•
• Drive balance across application areas (Environmental Monitoring, Water Testing, Product Bioburden Testing, and Sterility Testing)
•
• Expand revenue via volume and mix with existing customers
•
• Manage pricing and pricing agreement with key customers
• Provide commercial and operational leadership to ensure successful execution
• Manage activities supporting the 4P’s (product, price, placement, promotion) for consumable portfolio
• Drive strategic planning for existing and new applications and markets
•
• Market & Application assessment including sizing and segmentation
•
• Competitor analysis
•
• Market research including application assessment, VOC and consultant engagements
•
• Direct and contribute to marketing campaigns with cross-functional teams
• Develop new consumable products from initiation, through launch, and manage product lifecycle
•
• Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, applications and unmet needs through direct customer engagement and VOC; translate insights into new product, application and market opportunities
•
• Includes leadership through the product commercialization process to create strategy, business case, user Requirements, applications planning and review, go-to-market plans, and post-launch metrics review
• Establish, manage, and drive key external relationships and partnerships
• Establish customer- and commercial- facing communication related to the consumable families
• Advance internal projects for continued enhancement of our consumable’s offerings
• Manage P&L for the Growth Direct® consumables
• Other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering, life sciences preferred. Or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ Product Management experience in life science industry. Preferably biopharma, microbiology, GMP related.
• High-volume life science consumable product management experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of microbiology QC applications and GMP laboratory environments perferred, with the ability to understand customer workflows and translate application needs into product requirements and new product opportunities.
• Understanding in developing business cases and leading new product development
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams across Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations/Manufacturing, Quality and Finance.
• Hands-on success in driving the stage-gate commercialization of new product development & launches
• High level of intensity and success in driving actions to completion, with view to metrics including timeline and budget
• Strong planning, project management, and leadership skills
• Robust data management and excel modeling experience preferred
• Ability to work effectively and influence others
• Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal skills – strong customer orientation
• Highly motivated and proactive with a proven ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and drive projects forward independently
\n$121,500 - $150,000 a year
Rapid Micro Biosystems is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package designed to attract, inspire and retain the best talent in our industry. In addition to base pay, our full-time regular employees are eligible for an attractive benefits package, cash incentive opportunities, and an equity grant.
The base annual salary hiring range for this position is $121,500 - $150,000
Starting salaries are determined based on skills, experience, budget and other job-related factors. More information about our total compensation package will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
