Description

The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business needs and technical solutions by owning requirements definition, quality assurance, and stakeholder collaboration. This position drives discovery, ensures high-quality deliverables, and mentors junior analysts to support strategic initiatives within the IT department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the requirements relationship with business stakeholders for assigned domains, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • Lead discovery sessions through interviews, workshops, observation, and data analysis to identify core business problems and opportunities.
  • Analyze requests to uncover underlying issues, presenting viable solution options and defining future-state processes with operational impact considerations.
  • Author precise, testable requirements and acceptance criteria, and define comprehensive test strategies including scope, regression, and validation plans.
  • Design, execute, and coordinate testing activities such as functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Lead backlog refinement, participate in sprint planning, and represent business requirements during technical discussions and trade-off analyses.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level analysts through review, feedback, and knowledge sharing, while contributing to team standards and documentation.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Six or more years of experience in business analysis, quality assurance, or a related role with demonstrated ownership of a business domain.
  • Proven ability to lead discovery efforts on undefined business problems and produce well-supported recommendations.
  • Experience authoring clear, concise, and testable requirements suitable for development teams with minimal clarification.
  • Demonstrated success leading User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders and validating delivered functionality.
  • Experience mentoring analysts and reviewing requirement and test documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CRM implementations or similar core operational systems.
  • Domain expertise in call center operations, scheduling, dispatch, routing, or field service management.
  • Background in establishing business analysis or quality assurance standards within a team.
  • Experience with large-scale data migration and integration testing.
  • Hands-on QA experience across test strategy, design, execution, and maintaining regression suites.
  • Change management or end-user training experience for system implementations.
