SAP Finance Principal Product Owner
About the Role:
VF Corporation is seeking an exceptional SAP Finance Principal Product Owner to join our SAP ERP team in Shanghai, China. This role is pivotal to our SAP S/4 Transformation program in the APAC region, which aims to enhance flexibility, improve customer services, and reduce complexity by implementing industry best practices and adopting the SAP clean core strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the new S/4 solution, managing resources (both internal and external), timelines, and budgets within the finance area.
- Adopt Best Practices: Promote the adoption of industry best practices by leveraging S/4 standard capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration across teams, manage and reconcile multiple stakeholder views, resolve conflicts, and address diverse audience perspectives.
- Team Development: Develop and mentor a team of professional managers and experienced individual contributors within your domain.
Specific Duties:
- Business Process Translation: Translate business processes and requirements into system functionality.
- Collaboration: Foster collaboration and trust to influence cross-functional teams, ensuring strategies are executed through reliable processes.
- SAP Finance Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of SAP Finance capabilities, including General Ledger, Controlling, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and integration with Order to Cash, Retail, E-commerce, Logistics, and Procurement.
- Financial Process SME: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on financial processes, ensuring all financial requirements are met.
- Documentation: Collaborate with business and team members to identify and document business processes, functional specifications, test plans/scripts, and deployment plans.
- Solution Design: Design future finance solutions, enhancements, and continuous improvements for SAP based on business priorities and initiatives.
- Security Role Definitions: Define security roles for users in the SAP Finance space and participate in the segregation of duties.
- Internal Processes Oversight: Provide input and oversight on internal processes related to SAP master data, hierarchies, and reporting.
- Support Transition: Coordinate with application support to ensure a seamless transition from Hypercare activities.
- Audit Controls: Manage and satisfy SAP audit controls and pertinent SOX program requirements.
- Financial Close Support: Support monthly financial close, forecasting processes, budgeting, and planning.
- Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with SAP S4 HANA or SAP FICO is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related area preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience with SAP modules, including FI-GL, AR, AP, Credit and Asset Management, Special Ledger FI-SL, Project Systems, Bank Accounting, Foreign Currency, and/or Treasury. Experience in the implementation of SAP for a multinational group in the APAC region is required.
- Skills: Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and time constraints. Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues is critical.
- Leadership: Experience in leading financial operations for Product & Technology groups preferred.
- Self-Starter: Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Language: professional English (written and spoken) is a must
Special Requirements:
Travel: Travel by air and overnight, as required (20% of the time)
