Position Summary & Objective:

The Financial Analyst will support the costing branch of the finance team by executing the necessary reviews, calculations, entries and analysis relating to the company’s inventory and Manufacturing variances records. The role focuses on manufacturing operations and its’ continuous improvement to ensure accuracy in company manufacturing results, shorten lead times for finance deliverables, provide insightful information to the business backed by reliable data and ensure efficient and competitive costing of the company’s products.

Essential Functions Performed by the Position:

  • Ensures timely delivery of month end close for all manufacturing and inventory related tasks.
  • Complete job/work order closure processes and related reviews and analysis of material, labour and volume variances.
  • Translate production plans into weekly, quarterly and yearly financial forecasts.
  • Maintain robust master data, incl standard costs.
  • Liaise with operations associates to ensure timely and accurate delivery of source data.
  • Assist with and drive initiatives for productivity and cost savings.
  • Promote and maintain a disciplined and organised approach across the organisation towards data management and information flow between production, supply chain and finance.
  • Work towards creating flexible and insightful analytical models capable of being generated in a short time.
  • Continuously works towards implementing automation and efficiency in reporting.
  • Guide operations as required to deliver disciplined and compliant cycle counts.
  • Ensures compliance with the relevant SOX internal controls.
  • Support with Statutory and Internal Audit deliverables when required.
  • Investigate anomalies and implement processes or solutions to address any gaps accordingly.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Holds, or is in the process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Confident in understanding ERP systems and relationships between data tables

Experience:

  • Experience of working in a data driven environment (e.g. manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, large retail etc) is highly desirable, but less or inexperienced applicants with the appropriate mindset should not be discouraged from applying.
  • Working with other departments to drive cross departmental efficiencies and synergies.
  • Working, adapting to and exploiting new systems.

Certifications/Licenses:

  • None required.

Language Proficiency:

  • Proficient in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Hours and Conditions:

  • The role will require a heightened degree of on-site presence and mobility within the facility. Whilst flexibility is provided, the candidate is expected to manage/apply this flexibility as they deem appropriate without undermining the deliverables expected of the role.

Physical Characteristics and Demands:

  • This role will inherently require sedentary periods at a time but will also require a fair amount of movement within the premises to collaborate and coordinate with other areas of operation and attend daily meetings.
