Full description

Inpria, a subsidiary of JSR Corporation, is seeking a Process Engineering Manager to lead the process engineering team supporting development, scale-up, and manufacturing of advanced EUV photoresist materials. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and cross-functional execution to ensure manufacturing processes are robust, scalable, and capable of meeting demanding customer requirements. Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Manufacturing Operations, the Engineering Manager will translate organizational priorities into executable engineering plans; develop the technical capability of the engineering team; and provide leadership for process troubleshooting, improvement, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Lead process engineering efforts supporting EUV photoresist development, scale-up, and manufacturing operations.
  • Directly manage process engineers, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, technical development, and retention.
  • Drive process optimization across yield, defectivity, cost, cycle time, and process robustness using rigorous, data-driven methods.
  • Establish and maintain engineering performance metrics, technical-review mechanisms, and action plans for process capability, yield, defectivity, cycle time, reliability, and project execution.
  • Lead complex process investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Lead process-engineering execution for new process introduction, process transfer, and operational handoff, partnering with R&D, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and Equipment Engineering to ensure processes are qualified, documented, trained, and ready for sustained execution.
  • Establish and refine process-control strategies, specifications, operating procedures, and controlled documentation to meet semiconductor-grade purity and defectivity requirements.
  • Partner with Equipment Engineering during equipment design and implementation, providing process requirements and leading process-engineering deliverables including theory of operation, process qualification, controlled documentation, and initial operations training.
  • Ensure ongoing process-engineering readiness for process changes, maintenance activities, production campaigns, and resolution of technical risks affecting manufacturing performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support ERP and MES implementation, ensuring manufacturing requirements, workflows, and user-adoption needs are represented.
  • Translate technical, operational, and organizational priorities into actionable engineering plans, milestones, and staffing requirements.
  • Provide input to support capacity planning, facility growth, equipment installs, and long-range manufacturing capability planning.
  • Escalate significant technical, cross-functional, customer, or resource issues that require senior management alignment or decision-making.
  • Support engineering readiness for customer production priorities by coordinating process-engineering activities around plant capacity, maintenance windows, equipment installs, and workforce availability.
  • Provide input to organizational planning, headcount needs, and development of scalable engineering systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop process engineers through technical mentorship, regular feedback, performance management, and professional-development planning.
  • Build technical depth within the team in process engineering, high-purity chemical handling, contamination control, statistical analysis, and structured problem solving.
  • Establish clear expectations for technical rigor, data integrity, documentation quality, communication, safety, and accountability.
  • Foster effective collaboration among engineers, technicians, manufacturing supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Identify capability gaps and develop training plans to strengthen engineering support for current operations and future growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, operations management, or a related technical field with 8+ years experience; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

  • Experience in process engineering and/or manufacturing within high-purity chemicals or semiconductor materials.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical background in process development, scale-up, process control, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical programs from problem definition through implementation and sustained results.
  • Experience developing processes and control strategies that meet demanding customer, quality, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Experience with statistical process control, data analysis, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across R&D, quality, engineering, operations, and management.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience process engineering and/or manufacturing within high-purity chemicals or semiconductor materials.
  • Experience with EUV photoresists, advanced lithography materials, semiconductor process integration, or related semiconductor-materials manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with the demanding qualification and standards associated with EUV photolithography customers in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience supporting pilot, scale-up, and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with MES, ERP, controlled documentation, change control, and qualification practices.
  • Familiarity with high-purity chemical equipment, P&IDs, process automation, PLCs, HMIs, and recipe-controlled production systems.
  • Experience using JMP or similar statistical data-analysis tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to wear standard cleanroom attire in areas that require it
  • Ability to wear standard PPE in areas that require it
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to use a keyboard and mouse for computer data entry and/or analysis, and presenting data
  • Domestic and International travel estimated <10%
  • Occasional nights or weekends may be required due to meetings and production operations support needs
