Company Overview

SuppCo is on a mission to help people make sense of supplements and connect what they take to measurable outcomes in their bodies. Our platform helps users find high-quality products, optimize their stack, and understand what's actually working — powered by our proprietary TrustScore quality rating system, our StackScore routine analysis algorithm, and SuppIQ, our AI companion for personalized guidance.

Earlier this year, SuppCo was acquired by Function Health, the membership platform that gives people a complete picture of their health through lab biomarker testing and clinician-backed insights. It's a natural fit: Function shows you what's happening inside your body, and SuppCo helps you act on it with confidence. The full SuppCo team has joined Function for the long haul, and together we're building the most trusted health optimization experience anywhere — for millions of members.

This is a rare moment, as SuppCo and Function are launching a category-defining feature in late 2026 that will change how users use supplements forever. You'd be joining an experienced founder-led team with a track record of building and scaling category-defining products, now backed by Function's reach, data, and membership base. The ambition is big, the runway is real, and the work matters.

Role Overview

SuppCo is looking for an exceptional individual contributor to take on our hardest product design work and set the standard for how design works here.

This is a hands-on role and we mean it. You'll design the most important surfaces in the product, and you'll own the systems, patterns, and standards that all of our design work is built in. We're hiring the best product designer we can find — someone who also thinks in systems and can hold their own on strategy.

You'll work in close partnership with our Senior Product Designer, a highly skilled designer with exceptional visual craft who owns significant surfaces of the product. Together you are the design team. You'll report to the Head of Product and partner with him daily on what we build and why.

Here's what makes this job different from most senior design roles. Our engineering team is heavily AI-accelerated — Claude Code, Devin, Cursor — which means they can ship faster than any one designer can draw screens. So your leverage is in the system: making it good enough that engineers ship on-brand and on-quality without design in the loop for every screen, which frees the two of you to spend your time on the hard, high-stakes surfaces where craft and judgment decide the outcome. If you've ever felt like the bottleneck on a fast team, this is the role where you get to fix that properly.

The work ahead is a mix of 0-to-1 and impactful optimizations. We're building a new membership and commerce experience, connecting the SuppCo and Function Health products into one coherent journey, and going deeper on the daily habit that keeps people coming back. You'll have a real influence on all three.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design the product. Own end-to-end product design across SuppCo's mobile and web experiences — problem framing, IA, flows, interaction, and polished, production-ready UI. You'll take on the hardest and highest-stakes surfaces.
  • Own and scale our design system. We have a design system, but your job is to make it hold up and evolve. Mature the components, patterns, tokens, and documentation so that a fast-moving, AI-accelerated engineering team ships consistent, high-quality work without design reviewing every screen. Drive real impact, not just a nice Figma.
  • Optimize critical funnels and experiences. Push our most important flows to perform even better. From onboarding to activation and re-engagement, you will help us relentlessly optimize the funnels that matter most.
  • Design the membership and commerce experience. Take on the surfaces where users discover products, understand value, and transact — the marquee initiative for the business over the next several quarters.
  • Connect SuppCo and Function. Improve the core flows that turn biomarker insight into supplement action and back again, so members move between the two products without seams.
  • Deepen the core experience. Improve the daily loop — stack management, scheduling, adherence, and AI-guided discovery through SuppIQ — so more people build a routine that sticks.
  • Make the case for the work. Present design clearly and persuasively to the founders, the exec team, and the company: the problem, the options you considered, the tradeoffs you made, and what you expect to change as a result. Strong opinions, clearly argued.
  • Ground design in evidence. Use research, feedback, and product analytics to understand behavior, then define what success looks like for your work and follow through on whether it happened. We care more about measured impact than shipped volume.
  • Design AI-native experiences. Shape how conversational and agentic surfaces feel — including SuppIQ and AI-driven discovery — where the interface is part language, part UI, and the patterns are still being invented.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of product design experience, with a track record of shipping consumer mobile products that people actually use.
  • Exceptional craft. A portfolio of shipped work with visible attention to typography, layout, motion, and detail. We will look closely at the pixels.
  • Design systems experience with evidence of adoption. You've built a system a team genuinely worked in — or inherited someone else's and made it materially better without insisting on a rewrite. Either way, you can talk about how you got engineers to actually use it, what you compromised on, and how you handled the exceptions.
  • Systems thinking beyond components. You think in flows, information architecture, and end-to-end journeys, and you can hold a whole product in your head — not just the screen in front of you.
  • You can present. You can walk a room through the problem, the options you killed, the tradeoff you made, and what happened afterward. You write clearly. You persuade with reasoning rather than taste.
  • Commerce, subscription, or transactional product experience. You've designed purchase paths, merchandising, or membership experiences and understand how design choices move conversion and retention.
  • AI fluency. You use AI tools to accelerate your own work, and you're comfortable designing products where AI does some of the thinking. You see it as leverage, not a trend.
  • Self-sufficient. You set your own process, run your own research when you need it, and stay effective in ambiguity and fast organizational change. On a team this size, nobody hands you a brief.
  • You want to stay hands-on. You're at your best doing the work at the highest level, and you want your next role to deepen your craft and widen your influence rather than step away from the work.
  • Passion for health and wellness and for products that measurably improve people's lives.

Nice to Haves

  • You prototype in code, or with AI tools, to pressure-test interactions before they get built.
  • You know when AI is helpful, and when it’s not and are constantly retesting the boundaries.
  • Background in health, wellness, nutrition, diagnostics, or the supplement industry.
  • Marketplace or e-commerce design depth — search, browse, product detail pages, checkout.
  • Experience designing data-dense consumer interfaces: scores, charts, lab results, or anything that has to make complex information feel simple and trustworthy.
  • Experience with community, social, or content-discovery products.
  • Experience with habit-forming products — tracking, streaks, reminders, adherence.
  • Brand and visual identity range beyond product UI.
  • Previous experience at early-stage startups (seed to Series B).

Location

We are a remote-first organization that meets quarterly for team onsites in person. Our team is primarily based in the New York and Los Angeles areas, and our onsites are mostly held in NYC, though occasional travel may be expected. New York Tri-State area candidates are preferred but not required.

Why SuppCo?

  • Be the most senior designer at a company where design is a real competitive advantage, with the autonomy to set the standard and the mandate to keep your hands on the work.
  • Own the design foundations of a product at an inflection point — a new membership business, a major platform integration, and millions of members within reach.
  • Work on a small, senior team where the distance between an idea and something in users' hands is measured in days.
  • Direct line of sight to the business. You'll see what your work does to the metrics that matter.
  • Build something that helps people make better decisions about their own health, with evidence behind it.
  • Flexible remote work in a fast-moving, results-oriented culture.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation including meaningful equity in a fast-growing company with a massive TAM.
  • Fully remote culture with quarterly in-person onsites.
  • Top-tier healthcare (medical, dental, vision).
  • Flexible PTO.
