Overview

As a Product Manager, you will serve as the primary link between our business stakeholders and agile delivery teams, owning the product backlog and guiding enhancements from initial concept through production delivery. You will partner closely with business leaders to understand operational challenges, define requirements, establish priorities, and translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories that enable predictable delivery outcomes.

Acting as the voice of the customer, you will make critical prioritization decisions, manage competing demands, and ensure solutions align with organizational goals. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic business outcomes by shaping product direction, improving operational efficiency, and helping teams deliver meaningful solutions that create measurable value across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the sprint team backlog ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and sprint-ready.
  • Be the voice of our business partners to the delivery team and the voice of the team to the business. Serve as the primary decision-driver for enhancement scope and priority.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document requirements for new enhancements. Ensure backlog structure and level of detail is sufficient for team to provide relative estimation of work.
  • Translate business needs into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Communicate roadmap updates, feature progress, and risks/issues to executive level leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews in collaboration with the Scrum Master. Participate in daily Scrum meetings to support developers and QA team during sprints.
  • Accept or reject the delivery team's work results; ensuring development decisions stay aligned with business needs, and any issues that arise are addressed as quickly as possible.
  • Identify and escalate risks or blockers that could impact delivery timelines.
  • Coordinate steps to final delivery including business testing, user training, and support handoff.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated product experience working with middle and/or back-office technology solutions supporting Finance, Accounting, Revenue, Payroll, or Invoicing.
  • Strong experience in discovery, identification, and documentation of detailed requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Results driven, solution focused mindset with a commitment to removing blockers, simplifying complex problems and identifying options to mitigate risks/issues in an organized and structured way
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate new ideas with stakeholders, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overall business priorities.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into well-groomed user stories which lead to predictable delivery from development teams.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Product Owner or Product Manager on an agile scrum team.
  • Strong experience with JIRA or other backlog management tools.

THE STRONGEST CANDIDATES WILL HAVE

  • BS, MS in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft GP Dynamics (Great Plains)
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM).
