Technology Business Analyst

Role Summary

We are seeking a Technology Business Analyst to support finance transformation initiatives. This role will bridge business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering requirements, analyzing data, documenting workflows, supporting integrations, and helping deliver reporting, automation, and system enhancement projects. This role serves primarily as a Business Analyst, with the ideal candidate combining strong business analysis skills with hands-on technical ability (SQL/Python) to independently investigate issues, deliver small fixes/enhancements, and perform data analysis — reducing dependency on developers for routine tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

  • Partner with finance, treasury, and operations stakeholders to understand current-state processes and pain points across trading, margin, funding, and subledger accounting workflows
  • Gather, document, and prioritize business and functional requirements for finance/treasury systems
  • Create process maps (current-state/future-state), user stories, and functional specifications
  • Convey business requirements and context to technical teams to ensure alignment
  • Document workflows and business processes to support ongoing system enhancements

Integration & Systems Support

  • Support integrations between front-office, treasury, and accounting subledger systems
  • Assist in defining and validating data flows and interface specifications between systems
  • Coordinate with technical teams on integration testing and issue resolution

Data Analysis & Technical Support

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to investigate data issues, validate reconciliations, and support root-cause analysis across trade, margin, and subledger data
  • Use Python for data manipulation, automation of repetitive tasks, and building lightweight analysis/reporting scripts
  • Perform data profiling and quality checks across finance data sets (GL, subledger, trade/position data, margin calls)
  • Deliver small fixes, configuration changes, and enhancements independently, reducing turnaround time on minor defects
  • Support data mapping and reconciliation between front-office/treasury systems and the accounting subledger
  • Support the design and delivery of reporting and automation solutions for finance and treasury stakeholders

Testing & Quality

  • Design and execute test cases/scripts for UAT
  • Validate reports, interfaces, and reconciliations post-enhancement or post go-live
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies using SQL before escalating to development teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Finance Transformation, Treasury Technology, or Financial Systems projects
  • Strong understanding of core finance/treasury processes (trade capture, margin management, funding, subledger accounting, reconciliations, reporting)
  • SQL: Ability to write intermediate-to-advanced queries (joins, aggregations) to investigate and validate data independently
  • Python: Working knowledge for data analysis (pandas), scripting small automations, and supporting enhancement/fix development
  • Experience with at least one of the following platforms: Bloomberg TOMS/MARS (trade order management/multi-asset risk system), Workday (financials/HCM), OptiFunder (warehouse funding optimization), Acadia Margin Manager (collateral/margin management), FIS (treasury/financial systems suite), Accounting Subledger platforms (TPG, SBO, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and Agile delivery methods
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills — able to translate between business, treasury/trading, and technical teams
  • Prior experience in banking, asset management, mortgage finance, treasury operations, or capital markets operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to data migration/ETL concepts between trading systems and accounting subledgers, including understanding of APIs, batch jobs, data feeds, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
  • Basic understanding of financial controls, margin/collateral processes, and audit requirements

Compensation & Benefits

A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $110,000.00 150,000.00. The actual salary offer will depend on job-related factors including education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and experience. CoreVest also offers a competitive benefits package including discretionary corporate bonus program, multiple health plans, STD and LTD options, company-sponsored life insurance, fitness reimbursement, paid parental leave, volunteer time, Paid Time Off, ESPP, and 401(k) matching.
