Strategic Leadership & Organizational Capability

  • Develop and execute a multi-year DevOps and Cloud strategy that aligns with DaVita’s enterprise architecture and business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of Managers, Leads, and Senior Engineers; build a leadership pipeline and succession plan within the department.
  • Define and champion the "Platform Engineering" roadmap to reduce developer friction and increase self-service capabilities across IT.

Enterprise Modernization & Operational Excellence

  • Own the governance and standards for "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management across all development teams.
  • Drive systemic improvements in reliability and scalability, establishing enterprise-wide Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budget policies.
  • Lead the architectural transition from legacy systems to modern, cloud-native solutions (Kubernetes, Serverless, Microservices).

Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership (Directors/VPs) in Development and Security, influencing architectural decisions and "build vs. buy" strategies.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to embed regulatory controls (HIPAA/SOX) into the automation lifecycle (DevSecOps) without compromising velocity.
  • Lead cross-departmental "Communities of Practice" to foster knowledge sharing and standardize DevOps tools and practices across the enterprise.

Financial Stewardship & Vendor Management

  • Own the budget for cloud infrastructure, tooling, and professional services; drive "FinOps" practices to optimize cloud spend and forecast future costs accurately.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage strategic relationships with key technology vendors (e.g., Google, AWS, HashiCorp) to ensure maximum value.

Incident Command & Crisis Management

  • Serve as a senior escalation point for Major Incidents; oversee the "Post-Incident Review" process to ensure systemic root causes are addressed.
  • Ensure robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) capabilities for critical platforms.

The Salary Range for the role is $115,000.00 - $183,000.00 per year.

  

 

If a candidate is hired, they will be paid at least the minimum wage according to their geographical jurisdiction and the exemption status for the position.

New York Exempt: New York City and Long Island: $66,300.00/year, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $66,300.00/year, Remainder of New York state: $62,353.20/year New York Non-exempt: New York City and Long Island: $17.00/hour, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties: $17.00/hour, Remainder of New York state: $16.00/hour
