Job Description:

Sr. DevOps Engineer – Yard Management System 

 

About the Role As a Sr. DevOps Engineer at Kaleris, you will play a critical role in the deployment, scalability, and reliability of our mission-critical Yard Management System (YMS). You will work closely with development, cloud operations, and product teams to design, build, and support robust cloud-native solutions that power some of the world’s largest supply chain operations. 

 

You will own the end-to-end cloud deployment lifecycle across multiple cloud providers, design high-availability architectures, and ensure seamless integrations between our YMS and customer systems (TMS, WMS, ERP, etc.). 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design, deploy, and maintain highly available, multi-region, multi-AZ applications on AWS and Azure. 
  • Architect and implement robust Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies across cloud platforms  
  • Build automation for deployment, monitoring, and self-healing to minimize downtime and proactively resolve issues. 
  • Ensure security best practices are embedded into all cloud solutions (Network security, encryption, compliance). 
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through configuration tuning and infrastructure as code. 
  • Design and implement integrations between customer TMS/WMS platforms and Kaleris YMS using APIs, messaging services, and secure data flows. 
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive continuous improvement in reliability and operational excellence. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud architecture on AWS and Azure (EKS, AKS, EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Azure VMs, ). 
  • Strong expertise in DevOps practices and tools — GitHub, Jenkins, Spacelift, ArgoCD, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code. 
  • Deep experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery architectures in AWS and Azure. 
  • Strong PostgreSQL DBA skills (performance tuning, high availability, replication). 
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell; Ruby/Ruby on Rails a plus). 
  • Solid experience with Linux (primary) and Windows environments. 
  • In-depth knowledge of web technologies: Unicorn, Nginx, load balancing, caching (Memcached/Redis). 
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills in high-availability, mission-critical environments. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; fluent in English. 

Nice-to-Haves 

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator / Architect, etc.). 
  • Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
