Thematic Investing Engineering is transforming how clients invest by delivering technology solutions that help investors access market themes rather than individual securities. As an Associate Software Development Engineer, you will join a collaborative team focused on building scalable, client-facing web applications and services that support innovative investing experiences.
In this role, you will contribute across the software development lifecycle, partnering with engineers and stakeholders to evaluate requirements, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver high-quality solutions. Success requires strong problem solving, backend development, and application development skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within an agile environment. You will help design, develop, test, and deploy modern web applications and APIs while continuously improving platform capabilities and client outcomes. What you have
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or completion of a coding bootcamp program
- Undergraduate or graduate degree completed in May 2023 or earlier and/or coding bootcamp certification completed in August 2023 or earlier
- Knowledge of software development practices and processes
- Familiarity with algorithm design and data structures
- Experience with one or more of the following: Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, or Angular
- Familiarity with RESTful web services and/or cloud APIs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with database modeling concepts
- Demonstrated leadership potential
- Passion for innovation, experimentation, and emerging technologies
- Interest in learning new tools, technologies, and development practices
- Ability to translate complex problems into actionable solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
