Job Summary

The Business Analyst – Operational Excellence supports the three pillars of Operational Excellence (Amazon, Cargo, and Lean Six Sigma) by transforming operational data into insights that drive measurable business results. This role quantifies, validates, and tracks financial and operational benefits, ensuring consistent visibility into key initiatives. The analyst develops tools and dashboards that enhance leadership decision-making and acts as a bridge between operations, finance, and data teams to enable data-driven execution across the network.

Responsibilities

Cross-Pillar Performance Tracking:

  • Partner with business units across Amazon, Cargo, and Lean Six Sigma pillars to track and sustain improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure standard benefit calculation methodologies and performance tracking frameworks are applied consistently across all pillars.
  • Identify and quantify efficiency opportunities through data analysis and collaboration with operational teams.

Financial and Metric Validation:

  • Develop and maintain benefit-tracking models and dashboards to monitor realized and projected savings.
  • Validate cost savings, productivity improvements, and other measurable outcomes with Finance and CI leadership.
  • Ensure transparency and accuracy of data through recurring audits and continuous monitoring.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement:

  • Support Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives through data collection, benefit validation, and KPI tracking.
  • Collaborate with CI leaders and Green Belt project owners to define baselines, measure outcomes, and calculate ROI.
  • Provide analytical support for process mapping, root cause analysis, and performance benchmarking.

Executive Reporting and Insights

  • Prepare executive-level dashboards, scorecards, and presentations summarizing progress, financial impact, and risks.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Support governance and reporting structures to drive accountability and informed decision-making.

Technology Collaboration and Data Integration

  • Act as a liaison between Operational Excellence, IT, and Data teams to ensure alignment on data architecture, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
  • Understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions, supporting integration of data sources and automation of performance reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis, operations, or project management
  • Proven experience quantifying and validating operational or financial benefits
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced modeling, pivot tables) and Power BI or Tableau
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
  • Strong analytical, communication, and storytelling skills for executive audiences
  • Experience with SQL, databases, or scripting languages such as Python, R

Preferred Skills

  • VBA preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
