Job Description:

The Work

Operations Transformation builds the next generation of internal operating solutions for Merkle — production-grade applications, automation, and data products that help Merkle's teams work better. That means custom internal applications that replace manual processes, workflow automations that take repetitive work off people's plates, data infrastructure that gives leadership a clearer picture of the business, and AI-powered solutions that change how our delivery and operational teams do their jobs.

As Product Manager, you'll own the product portfolio for one of these business functions — your specialization (see below). You'll be the person who engages daily with that function's stakeholders, identifies problems, and sets the portfolio roadmap — and the roadmaps of the products within it.

The role is AI-native by design. You will use frontier LLMs directly to draft documentation, requirements, briefs, and roadmaps, to explore UX and produce UI mockups, and to vibe-code prototype solutions yourself. It's a new role, created as the function rebuilds around outcome-oriented, AI-accelerated delivery, and it exists to put dedicated, AI-fluent product ownership between the business functions the team serves and the engineers who build for them.

Your Specialization

Specialization — PMO

You'll own the PMO product portfolio: the tools that centralize and modernize how projects and programs are managed across the business — portfolio governance, prioritization, and delivery health. Day to day you'll partner most closely with the PMO and delivery leads. Representative products: Helm (portfolio intake, scoring, and prioritization) and DX Project Health Automation. Domain depth in project or program management — enough fluency to improve how the PMO function operates, not to run the projects yourself — is a strong plus.

What You'll Own

Product Strategy & Roadmap

Own the roadmap for a function-aligned portfolio and the individual products within it, making the call on sequencing and trade-offs. Ultimate prioritization is set by committee through the team's governed intake; you will shape and defend the case that feeds it.

Compress the strategy-and-documentation cycle with AI — first-draft briefs, requirements, PRDs, and roadmaps generated with LLMs, then made decision-ready by product judgment.

Discovery & Validation

Run discovery directly with the function's operators and leaders. Sit with the work, diagnose where it breaks, and build the business case for whether it's worth solving before build commitment.

Independently explore UX, produce UI mockups, and vibe-code working prototypes with AI tooling to validate direction before engineering investment.

Delivery Partnership

Define the "what" and "why" for engineers, business analysts, and project managers. The project manager(s) run day-to-day execution of specific projects within the portfolio, so you will own product direction, not project logistics.

Own each product through adoption — the shift from "shipped" to "people choose it over the old process" — and feed what you learn back into the roadmap.

How We Work

The products: internal applications, workflow automation, and operational data — these are tools that enable resourcing logistics, HR process management, sales cycle optimization, internal project management, team member alerts and notifications, and the back-end data suite that makes it all possible. You will own the slice aligned to your function.

Build stack: Microsoft Power Platform serves as our legacy core (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse), while newer products ship as React applications, with data, servers, and AI models provided through production-grade Microsoft Azure tools. We have integrations with enterprise applications across the organization, including but not limited to Salesforce, Workday, D365, and Adobe Workfront.

AI build & acceleration stack: the team's engineering is AI-assisted daily, with agentic coding tools in the workflow. You will work the same way — LLMs for documentation and requirements, AI design and prototyping tools for UX and UI, and AI coding assistants for vibe-coded prototypes.

Delivery methodology: an engagement-specific hybrid — a modern, practical approach measured by what ships, not by how faithfully we follow a methodology. The process serves the work, never the reverse, and governance stays visible without becoming overhead.

What You Bring

4–8 years in product management, or a product-owner role with real decision authority, including owning a product or portfolio end to end.

Advanced, demonstrable AI fluency as a working method — uses frontier LLMs to draft documentation, requirements, briefs, and roadmaps; to explore UX and produce UI mockups; and to vibe-code functional prototypes.

A track record of turning ambiguous stakeholder input into a prioritized roadmap a delivery team can execute without rework.

Ability to operate cross-functionally through influence, without authority over engineering, analysis, or delivery.

Working fluency in modern software delivery (agile/scrum/kanban), enough to partner credibly with engineers. No professional coding background required.

Discovery skill: can get in front of business operators, diagnose process failure, and build a business case for what's worth building.

No certifications required. No degree requirement. No MBA requirement.

What Sets You Apart

Experience building internal or operations products for business functions (Finance, Sales, delivery, PMO) rather than commercial software.

Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform or comparable low-code and AI-assisted build environments.

Domain depth in your specialization area (see Your Specialization).

A body of AI-accelerated work you can show and walk through — prototypes, mockups, or documents.

What We Offer

Real, shipped products in daily use across the business — not a backlog of slideware.

AI-assisted engineering as a daily practice, and direct exposure to enterprise Microsoft, data, and AI work.
