Garda is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) intern to join a global team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the firm’s core third-party trade capture and P&L system. This role focuses on supporting multiple asset classes (Rates, FX, Commodities, Credit, Equities) with close collaboration across Trading Assistants, Middle Office, Risk, and Technology teams.

The ideal candidate will be hands-on in managing real-time support, gathering user requirements, coordinating with vendors or internal teams, and ensuring system stability and accuracy in a high-paced trading environment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Real-Time & End of Day Support: Provide comprehensive, real-time application support for various users (PMs, Risk, Middle Office, Trading Assistants).
  • System Monitoring: Perform start-of-day checks, including monitoring market data feeds, risk reports, and FIX message flows.
  • User Requirement Gathering & Solution Delivery: Collect and analyze user requirements (Trading Assistants, PMs, Quants). Collaborate with internal tech teams or 3rd-party vendors to design, test, and deploy system enhancements.
  • User Onboarding: Support the onboarding of new users and ensure smooth adoption of system functionalities.
  • Release & Hotfix Testing: Coordinate and perform local user testing for new system releases or urgent patches.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • Domain Knowledge:
  • Understanding of Fixed Income (Swaps, Bonds, Bond Futures & Options) and FX products (Forwards, Swaps, Options).
  • Prior exposure to Trading Assistant, Middle Office, or Systems Support functions is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Familiarity with market data feeds (e.g., Bloomberg) and troubleshooting data connectivity issues.
  • Basic SQL and experience with job schedulers are advantageous.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with users and technical teams.
  • Education: Master’s degree in STEM or Finance.
  • Prior Bloomberg terminal experience is a plus.
