Educational Qualification BE / B.Tech in any engineering discipline. Candidates from any engineering stream are eligible, provided they meet the required technical skill set and experience criteria.

Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Power BI / Microsoft Fabric with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development, SQL, semantic modeling, Microsoft Fabric, data storytelling, and CI/CD implementation.

The candidate should be capable of working across the complete BI development lifecycle, including requirement understanding, data modeling, semantic model design, Power BI development, SQL optimization, dashboard storytelling, CI/CD implementation, deployment, and production support.

Required Technical Skills 1. Power BI Development – Mandatory 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI development. Strong experience developing enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards. Excellent knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. Strong expertise in DAX and Power Query/M. Ableity to build Paginated Reports by using Power BI Report Builder Experience with calculated measures, calculated columns, and time intelligence. Strong understanding of Power BI performance optimization. Experience with Import, DirectQuery, and Direct Lake connectivity modes. Experience with Power BI workspaces, gateways, refreshes, and deployments. Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS) and security implementation.

2. Data Storytelling & Dashboard Design – Mandatory Strong data storytelling and visualization skills. Ability to convert business requirements and complex datasets into meaningful insights. Strong dashboard design and visualization capabilities. Understanding of KPI design, visual hierarchy, drill-through, drill-down, tooltips, navigation, and interactive reporting. Ability to design dashboards for business users, management, and executive stakeholders. Strong focus on business outcomes rather than simply creating visual reports.

3. Semantic Model & Data Modeling – Mandatory Strong experience designing Power BI Semantic Models / Microsoft Semantic Models. Ability to design scalable, reusable, and high-performance semantic models. Strong knowledge of Star Schema and dimensional modeling. Experience with relationships, cardinality, hierarchies, perspectives, measures, and calculation logic. Good understanding of filter context and row context. Experience with RLS / OLS. Ability to create reusable semantic models supporting multiple reports and business use cases. Experience optimizing semantic models for performance and scalability.

4. Microsoft Fabric /Azure – Mandatory / Strong Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric environment. Good understanding of OneLake. Fabric Lakehouse Fabric Warehouse Fabric Data Factory / Data Pipelines Fabric Semantic Models Power BI integration Direct Lake Understanding of Fabric workspace architecture, security, governance, and deployment. Ability to develop end-to-end analytical solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

5. SQL – Mandatory / Expert Excellent hands-on experience with SQL. Strong experience developing and optimizing Stored Procedures. Strong expertise in complex SQL queries and Joins. Experience with CTEs, subqueries, views, temporary tables, aggregations, and window functions. Strong experience in SQL query optimization and performance tuning. Ability to analyze execution plans and identify performance bottlenecks. Experience working with large-volume datasets.

6. CI/CD & DevOps – Mandatory Strong experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions. Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Git. Experience with source control, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews. Experience implementing deployments across: Development QA UAT Production Experience with Power BI Deployment Pipelines. Experience implementing CI/CD for Power BI reports, semantic models, datasets, and Fabric artifacts. Experience configuring Azure DevOps pipelines for automated deployments. Understanding of environment-specific configurations, parameters, and deployment variables. Experience supporting production releases, release validation, and rollback processes. Knowledge of Power BI/Fabric REST APIs and deployment automation is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions. Design scalable and reusable Microsoft Semantic Models. Develop advanced DAX measures and optimize Power BI performance. Create dashboards with strong data storytelling and business-focused visualization. Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning. Design and implement analytical solutions using Microsoft Fabric. Implement RLS/OLS and appropriate security controls. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git. Automate deployments across Dev, QA, UAT, and Production environments. Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, QA, and other technical teams. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and follow SDLC best practices. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Monitor capacity utilization, troubleshoot pipeline and report failures, perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to ensure operational efficiency, system reliability, and accurate report
