Full description

Sweep is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer (freelance) able to onboard quickly and work autonomously from day one, to reinforce our IT operations for a defined period and absorb our growing day-to-day support and device-logistics workload.

Climate change is the defining issue of our time. By empowering companies with technology that helps them manage their climate impact, we believe Sweep can make a meaningful contribution to a better future for all of us.

Ok, sounds promising. What will I be doing?

This is a hands-on, operational mission. You’ll take over the day-to-day IT support and device logistics so our internal team can operate seamlessly through a busy period. Your job is to keep the queue under control and our fleet and users running smoothly, reliably, and from day one.

You'll work within the domain of the CTO, collaborating closely with the VP Compliance, IT & Security, and side by side with our internal IT Support Specialist.

To be clear on scope: this is an operational reinforcement, not an architecture, security or management role. Strategy, security and compliance, and long-term projects stay with our internal team, your focus is hands-on delivery on the ground. We’re looking for someone who is genuinely happy owning that operational load for the length of the mission.

To be more specific, this includes:

  • Own and clear the IT helpdesk backlog, and handle day-to-day support for internal users across the macOS ecosystem, in line with our existing SLAs;
  • Handle the full device / fleet logistics: preparing, imaging, configuring, shipping, retrieving, repairing and reassigning Macs and peripherals;
  • Run hardware onboarding and offboarding for joiners and leavers, including during peak waves;
  • Manage device inventory and stock (spares, accessories, shipping materials) and keep it accurate;
  • Coordinate repairs, RMAs and returns with vendors and couriers;
  • Perform endpoint enrolment and management tasks via our MDM;
  • Document procedures in clear, reusable runbooks so processes remain repeatable after the mission ends.

That sounds just right for me. What do I need to bring?

Glad you asked. This is who we’re looking for:

Qualifications 🏆

  • You are a senior, fully autonomous IT support / IT operations professional, productive from day one with no ramp-up required;
  • Deep hands-on experience with the macOS ecosystem and an MDM (e.g. Jamf, Kandji or Mosyle);
  • Strong track record in device lifecycle, fleet logistics and high-volume helpdesk operations;
  • Comfortable working on-site and handling hardware logistics in person;
  • Experience in a fast-paced, remote-friendly company;
  • Fluent in English and French, with excellent written and spoken skills;
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Qualities 🧠

  • You’re genuinely happy owning high-volume BAU and backlog work - this operational load is the heart of the mission, not a stepping stone to an architecture, security or lead role;
  • You roll up your sleeves and get things done, no task is too small;
  • You are reliable, self-organised and comfortable coordinating closely with an existing team;
  • You bring all-round communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively;
  • You aim for velocity;
  • You care about data privacy;
  • You care about our mission of creating a better future for all of us.

A few practical details 📌

  • Duration: approximately 6 months, reviewed at term;
  • Location: Paris-based (on-site) with possible travel to our Montpellier and London offices (expenses covered);
  • Start date: as soon as possible

Copy that. And what’s in it for me?

You’ll take on a clearly-scoped, hands-on mission with real autonomy and clear objectives, the kind where you can plug in fast, make an immediate and visible impact on the backlog, and leave a clean, well-documented setup behind you.

You’ll work alongside a dynamic team of engineers, business minds, creatives and carbon & ESG experts spread across the world. We’re a fun bunch of people who want to work hard and enjoy ourselves while doing so, in a calm environment that knows life is not just work.

We’re big believers in creating successful businesses that are good for everyone, including society and the planet. That’s why we’re an “Entreprise à Mission” and a Certified B Corp.

We think it’ll be a great mission, and hopefully a good one for you, too.
