Senior Javascript Developer - React

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Javascript Developer - React based in India.

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you’ll play a key role in building scalable, high-quality web applications using React.js and Next.js.You’ll own significant features end to end, from technical design through deployment and optimization.The role combines hands-on engineering with frontend architecture, performance, and user experience.You’ll work closely with cross-functional product teams to turn ideas into intuitive, engaging digital experiences.You’ll also raise engineering standards through code reviews, testing, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.As a senior member of the team, you’ll mentor other developers and contribute to the evolution of frontend practices.The environment is collaborative, fast-moving, remote, and focused on building products that solve real customer problems.

Accountabilities:

• Architect and develop robust, scalable web applications using React.js and Next.js, ensuring maintainability, reliability, and a strong user experience.

• Own significant frontend features throughout the complete lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to rollout and continuous improvement.

• Drive frontend performance optimization, including server-side rendering, static generation, bundle size, Core Web Vitals, caching, debugging, and browser performance.

• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to define and deliver features that improve user engagement.

• Design and integrate REST-based third-party APIs and ensure reliable communication between frontend applications and external services.

• Establish and maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, refactoring, testing practices, and pragmatic technical debt reduction.

• Lead initiatives to improve frontend architecture, development workflows, deployment pipelines, and overall application quality.

• Mentor junior and mid-level developers, share knowledge, and help strengthen the team’s frontend engineering capabilities.

• Evaluate emerging web technologies, frameworks, and development practices and recommend improvements where they can create meaningful value.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience building production web applications with JavaScript.

• 5+ years of professional experience with React.js, including strong knowledge of functional components, hooks, state management, context, memoization, rendering behavior, and lifecycle concepts.

• Hands-on production experience with Next.js, including server-side rendering, static generation, and routing.

• Strong command of ES6+, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a state management library such as Redux or a comparable solution.

• Proven experience designing and integrating REST-based third-party APIs.

• Demonstrated experience with frontend performance optimization, debugging, browser testing, and modern web performance practices.

• Experience with modern build tooling such as Webpack, Babel, or equivalent technologies, as well as frontend deployment pipelines.

• Track record of leading code reviews, refactoring legacy code, and improving engineering standards.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently analyze, clarify, scope, and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Strong attention to detail and a well-developed understanding of UI/UX and visual interfaces.

• Familiarity with Google Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights and their use in driving measurable performance improvements is preferred.

• Knowledge of SEO best practices for server-rendered applications, component libraries, design systems, and monorepo tooling is advantageous.

• Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress is a plus.

• Familiarity with feature flagging, progressive rollouts, and asynchronous or distributed team environments is desirable.

• Prior experience mentoring developers or leading technical initiatives is preferred.

• Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to both challenge ideas constructively and respond positively to feedback.
