Staff Software Engineer I - Devops architecture,IaC, Kubernetes,Python

Overview:

• Blue Yonder is seeking a strategic and highly experienced Staff Software Engineer to join our Product Development team. The Staff Software Engineer will serve as a principal technical authority, shaping the overarching vision, architecture, and strategy for the applications, platforms, and delivery systems supporting our global supply chain solutions. Operating at the strategic intersection of software engineering, cloud architecture, and operations, this role will drive platform modernization, establish organization-wide best practices, and lead high-impact engineering initiatives to maximize operational efficiency and scalability. This role will work on SaaS products enabling enterprise retailers to process returned goods.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with executive leadership, Principal Architects, and Product Engineering leads to align infrastructure capabilities with business goals.

• Design and implement complex software systems based on a set of business requirements and accompanying architectural direction.

• Implement the long-term architectural roadmap for infrastructure, cloud environments, and deployment platforms across multiple product suites.

• Lead major initiatives to design resilient CI/CD ecosystems, automated governance, and scalable self-service developer platforms, eliminating operational friction.

• Evaluate, architect, and standardize enterprise tools for deployment, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and operational reliability.

• Technical mentor and guide for Senior and Mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and engineering rigor.

• Partner with Application Engineers, Security, and Cloud Operations to enhance system resilience and end-customer experience.

What We Are Looking For:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: 10-12 years of progressive experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, or Systems Architecture, with a proven track record of architecting enterprise platforms at scale.

• Expertise in IaC & Automation: Advanced mastery of infrastructure-as-code and configuration management at scale using modern automation frameworks.

• Scripting & Software Engineering: Strong proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for custom tooling and platform development.

• Containerization & Orchestration: Deep technical expertise in enterprise Kubernetes architecture, Docker, and multi-region microservice deployments.

• Cloud Architecture: Deep expertise across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with emphasis on cost optimization, enterprise security, and fault tolerance.

• System Design & CI/CD: Expert-level mastery of Git, complex CI/CD pipeline orchestration (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), and zero-downtime deployment strategies.

• Leadership & Influence: Outstanding technical leadership, system design capabilities, and the ability to drive alignment across multi-functional engineering groups.
