We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Critical Systems Manager – Engineering and Data Centers to join our facilities Management team. This role is in New York City, NY.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Responsible for the MEP engineering design and operational maintenance standards across BNY real estate portfolio.
  • Implement a formal design review process for all construction and infrastructure project management projects and ensure all BNY MEP standards are incorporated into the base design. Ensure design reviews are incorporated into the overall project schedule.
  • Partner with BNY architectural team to ensure design standard details are fully coordinated between engineering and architectural trades.
  • Develop a formal construction project management handover checklist and ensure project milestones are incorporated into the BNY project management tool.
  • Ensure the project design, construction and overall project turnover comply with BNY standards, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Manage a database of requests for proposal (RFP) templates for BNY design and commissioning consultants and ensure construction project management teams utilize RFP templates for projects across the portfolio.
  • Assist site facilities management to ensure all maintained assets are documented, maintenance plans are reviewed and approved, and maintenance frequency standards are implemented.
  • Manage critical systems and data center spaces, providing guidance and direction to engineering staff concerning standards, maintenance, system modifications and change control.
  • Oversee third party facility management providers and ensure they adhere to contract requirements, SLAs, and governance.
  • Maintain and optimize all standard equipment method of procedures and standard operating procedure database and oversee the request for change process as it relates to Facilities asset maintenance and project construction.
  • Continue to analyze and optimize BNY’s building management systems as it pertains to critical infrastructure monitoring, equipment alarms, and status.
  • Assist facility management team’s implementation of capital projects for critical systems, equipment replacements and facilities upgrades. Ensure projects are completed within agreed upon schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with peers from Corporate Security, Technology, Corporate Services in the daily operation of BNY facilities, as well in the implementation of capital projects.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence to improve processes across the critical systems and facility management functions at BNY.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ management experience in facilities management and/or operations.
  • Extensive experience with critical facilities and office fit out construction and/or project management.
  • Extensive experience with critical systems operations and maintenance, including authoring of method of procedures.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Strong document management and organization skills, specifically in documentation standards.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively, which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details, or, an equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.

Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award.
