About the Role

D|Watts is committed to redefining the construction experience for our clients. As an Assistant Project Manager with D|Watts you will assist with the smooth and timely completion of interior office buildouts and help exceed client expectations on every project. Your role as an APM will be to assist with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities your Project Manager sees fit.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains adherence to the D|Watts standards of safety
  • Prioritizes paperwork and submittal process
  • Maintains material delivery status
  • Archives contact records
  • Sets up the initial paperwork flow for projects
  • Maintains and distributes meeting minutes
  • Manages all project files following the proper organization structure
  • Assists the superintendent in quality control
  • Works with the superintendent in the formulation of the project plan
  • Maintains communication with subcontractors throughout the project

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ experience working for a General Contractor
  • High school diploma required, B.S. in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management is preferred
  • Must possess a valid current driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to read construction drawings
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn the following systems: Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), Bluebeam, Procore, and PlanGrid
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Foster positive relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors and vendors
  • Approach all situations with a customer service-oriented attitude
  • Take initiative and seek responsibility
