The Product Manager, Cargo Healthcare Solutions is responsible for the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle management, and growth of Air Canada Cargo’s healthcare and life sciences product portfolio. The role translates healthcare market requirements, customer needs, priority lane opportunities, and operational capabilities into product strategies, enhancements, and growth plans that support revenue, profitability, customer value, and market competitiveness. Acting as the organization’s healthcare logistics subject matter expert, the Product Manager partners with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Revenue Management, and external stakeholders to ensure products are commercially viable, operationally executable, and consistently delivered.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Own the strategy, development, commercialization, lifecycle and growth of Air Canada Cargo's healthcare and life sciences product portfolio.
- Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends to drive product growth and innovation.
- Partner with regional Sales and Revenue Management to identify priority healthcare lanes, customer segments, and growth opportunities, and align commercial targets, prospecting priorities, pricing considerations, and capacity-informed product growth plans.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for product investments, enhancements, and portfolio evolution.
- Monitor product performance and recommend actions to improve customer value and commercial outcomes.
Product Development & Commercialization
- Monitor healthcare market, regulatory, and customer trends to identify opportunities for innovation, product enhancement, and portfolio growth.
- Lead the development and implementation of new products, services, and enhancements, including defining requirements, customer value propositions, service standards, and operational needs.
- Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to support product positioning, launches, and commercialization activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and customer experience.
Product Governance & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as the bridge between Commercial and Operations to ensure products are commercially viable and operationally executable.
- Maintain product integrity by aligning customer commitments, operational capabilities, and service delivery standards.
- Ensure products are consistently positioned, sold, and delivered across the organization.
- Champion the voice of the customer in product-related decision making.
Product Expertise & Enablement
- Serve as the organization's healthcare logistics subject matter expert, ensuring product offerings align with industry requirements, quality standards, and customer needs.
- Maintain product standards, and commercial documentation, training materials, and knowledge resources.
- Provide product expertise and support to Commercial, Operations, Customer Service, and Marketing teams.
- Support strategic customer engagements through product consultation and solution development.
Business Development & Partnerships
- Build strategic partnerships and represent Air Canada Cargo across the healthcare logistics industry to strengthen market positioning and drive product adoption.
- Advance product-led growth, customer opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to expand product adoption within existing and target customer segments.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen Air Canada Cargo’s product portfolio and market position.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development, commercial strategy, logistics, aviation, or a related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical logistics, healthcare supply chains, life sciences, biotechnology, or temperature-controlled transportation.
- Knowledge of CEIV Pharma, GDP, healthcare quality standards, and pharmaceutical supply chain requirements.
- Experience working with healthcare manufacturers, distributors, logistics providers, or freight forwarders
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Experience developing business cases and supporting commercialization activities.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and driving outcomes without direct authority.
- Knowledge of air cargo operations and logistics solutions is considered an asset.
- Strong product management and commercialization capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance customer needs, commercial objectives, and operational realities.

- Proficiency with applications such as the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Salesforce CRM and BI tools.
