This role works as part of the People Systems team to provide BAU support for Workday and related People Systems, while also contributing to system enhancements, release activity, and project delivery. The role will help resolve system issues, maintain data and configuration quality, support stakeholders, and deliver practical improvements that strengthen user experience and operational efficiency.

The People Systems Analyst will support day-to-day operational queries, smaller system changes, and project workstreams under the guidance of senior analysts and the Workday People Systems Lead, building functional and technical capability over time while ensuring solutions are aligned with business requirements, governance standards, and release management practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Systems Configuration & Technical Delivery

  • Support the configuration, testing, and optimisation of assigned Workday modules, typically across 1–2 functional areas.
  • Build and maintain Workday configuration components such as business process steps, condition rules, calculated fields, and basic module configuration under guidance from senior team members.
  • Prepare and execute test scenarios for system changes, releases, and defect fixes.
  • Support tenant and release management activities including testing cycles, validation, and issue resolution.
  • Follow governance, security, and documentation standards to support data accuracy and system stability.

2. BAU Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide BAU support for assigned Workday modules and related People Systems processes, responding to system queries, investigating issues, and supporting timely resolution.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand operational issues, enhancement requests, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Triage and analyse system issues, identifying root causes and escalating more complex items to senior analysts or technical teams where required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for configuration, testing outcomes, issue resolution, and user guidance.

3. Systems Development & Integration Support

  • Support basic integration and data load activities using Workday tools such as EIBs.
  • Assist with data validation, error resolution, and testing for integrations and system updates.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and internal People teams to support effective data flow and issue resolution.

4. Data, Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Create, amend, and maintain standard and custom Workday reports under guidance.
  • Support data quality checks, reporting extracts, and basic analytics requirements.
  • Work with People Analytics and People Operations teams to troubleshoot reporting queries and improve data accuracy.

5. Stakeholder & Project Delivery Support

  • Partner with HR, Centres of Excellence, People Operations, and business stakeholders to support day-to-day Workday usage and enhancements.
  • Contribute to Workday projects and workstreams alongside BAU support, completing assigned configuration, testing, documentation, data validation, and post-go-live support activities.
  • Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and issues to senior analysts or the People Systems Lead.
  • Support the creation of training materials and user guidance to improve adoption and user experience.

Experience required

  • Good Workday configuration and administration experience, ideally across at least 1–2 Workday modules such as Core HCM, Compensation, Time & Absence, Talent Management, or Recruiting.
  • Experience supporting Workday enhancements, configuration changes, testing, and issue resolution.
  • Good understanding of Workday business processes, reporting, and data structures; exposure to calculated fields and security concepts is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday tools such as Report Writer and EIBs;
  • Experience working within testing cycles, release management processes, or structured change control environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve system issues with appropriate support.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to work with People teams and explain system requirements or issues in a practical way.
  • Workday certification or formal Workday training in relevant modules is desirable.
