Legato, LLC recruiters (Staffing@legatocorp.com) would love to speak with you regarding the following position: Network and DevOps Engineer in Fort Meade, MD. Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Salary Range: $220,000-$245,000, depending on experience. What You Will Do:
The Network and DevOps Engineer will support the administration, deployment, integration, maintenance, and optimization of complex systems and network infrastructure across development, testing, laboratory, and operational environments. This role combines strong Linux and network engineering expertise with modern DevOps practices, including automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerization, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud technologies.
The Engineer will design, configure, deploy, and maintain networked environments spanning LAN, CAN, and WAN infrastructure, working with technologies including Arista and Cisco network devices. The Engineer will configure and optimize connectivity between front-end and back-end system components while troubleshooting network, system, and application-level issues.
This individual will also administer RHEL/CentOS Linux environments, develop automation using Python and Bash, build and maintain Jenkins or GitLab pipelines, and implement infrastructure as code using Ansible or Terraform. The Engineer will deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes and manage Kubernetes clusters with a focus on availability, scalability, security, and performance. Responsibilities will also include supporting and monitoring hybrid cloud and virtualized environments and providing technical support throughout the system lifecycle.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
- Twelve (12) years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience, particularly with RHEL/CentOS
- Experience with LAN, CAN, and WAN administration, including network design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrades
- Experience configuring and supporting Cisco and Arista network devices
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Recent experience within the last three (3) years with Kubernetes, cluster orchestration, and containerization
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar technologies
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
- Experience scripting with Python and Bash
- Experience managing and monitoring hybrid cloud and virtualized environments
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science Four (4) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science may substitute for two (2) years of required experience
- Active IAT Level II / DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as Security+, and CCNA certification
- Ability to provide 24/7 call-in support for critical system issues
- Willingness to travel for system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
