Full description

Aurora Live is a European executive business network connecting senior decision-makers with peers, relevant expertise and solution providers. Technology is at the core of how we create connections and scale our business. Much of the software running Aurora Live is proprietary, covering both customer-facing services and the internal tools our teams use every day.

We are now looking for a Lead Software Architect to help us build the next generation of our software in an AI-native way.

In this role you own the big picture of our software architecture — how our proprietary applications, data models, integrations and APIs connect, and how the overall architecture should evolve. In this role you also roll up your sleeves, work with the codebase, prototype solutions, review implementation, solve technical problems and work closely with the development team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Lead our transition towards AI-native software development, using AI coding agents and modern development tools as part of everyday engineering.
  • Make our architecture increasingly AI-readable, including clear data models, APIs, system boundaries and technical documentation.
  • Define and evolve architecture across our applications, integrations, data and APIs.
  • Stay hands-on through prototyping, code reviews, technical problem-solving and selected development work.
  • Challenge unnecessary custom development and find the smartest solution: build, buy, integrate or automate.
  • Improve scalability, security, maintainability and technical quality across the software estate.
  • Reduce technical debt pragmatically while keeping the business moving.
  • Coach developers and raise the technical bar across the team.

What we are looking for:

You are an experienced software architect or senior engineer who has designed complex systems but still enjoys building things yourself.

You have strong experience in areas such as:

  • TypeScript / JavaScript
  • Modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
  • Node.js and server-side development
  • Relational databases
  • APIs, REST and/or GraphQL
  • AWS Cloud platforms and Services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, VPC, API Gateway, Route53…)
  • Docker, Git, CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
  • Integrations, data flows and distributed systems
  • Security, authorization and scalable application architecture
  • Experience with CRM systems (like HubSpot) and automation technologies (like n8n or Robot Framework) is a plus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • A team-oriented mindset, eager to share knowledge, coach and collaborate with others

Most importantly, AI-assisted software development is already part of how you work. You understand how tools such as Claude Code, Codex and other AI coding agents change software design, development, testing and documentation — and you want to push this much further.

Why Aurora Live?

You will join a growth company where technology is directly connected to business development and where there is substantial opportunity to influence future architecture.

We are not looking for someone to maintain a finished system landscape. We are looking for someone who wants to build, simplify, modernize and shape what comes next.

If you like combining architect-level thinking with hands-on engineering, this could be a very interesting role for you!
