We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead commercial interior construction projects from contract award through final closeout. This role is responsible for overseeing every phase of project execution, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and client communication while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
The ideal candidate has experience managing projects involving commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and interior finish systems. You will work closely with Superintendents, field personnel, general contractors, architects, suppliers, and clients to successfully deliver multiple commercial projects while maintaining strong financial performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial interior construction projects from contract award through final completion and closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and project execution strategies.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope documents to ensure complete project understanding.
- Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and clients throughout every phase of construction.
- Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, cost control, billing, and profitability.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and long-lead items to maintain project schedules.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with owners, architects, general contractors, and internal teams.
- Identify project risks early and implement proactive solutions to minimize schedule delays and cost impacts.
- Support field operations by ensuring crews have the resources, materials, and information needed to maintain productivity.
- Oversee punch-list completion, warranty items, project turnover, and final closeout documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- 3+ years of Project Management experience in commercial interior construction.
- Experience managing projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, or related interior finish trades is required.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, project sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from startup through closeout.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, procurement, billing, labor management, change orders, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project schedules.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and client relationships.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management software is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
