Full description

Are you energized by turning complex financial data into clear, actionable insights? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst to join our Central Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team and help drive Income Statement reporting across our rapidly growing Core and AI businesses. In this role, you will build automation that streamlines how we report, inspect, and surface trends, outliers, and opportunities for AWS leadership to act on. You will also contribute to cost reduction and revenue acceleration strategies that directly shape business outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to work where financial analysis meets technology. You will use tools like Amazon QuickSight and other AI-based platforms to consolidate complex data into dynamic, usable reports. If you are a self-starter with a strong foundation in financial statements and accounting concepts who thrives on turning raw numbers into executive-ready narratives, we want to hear from you.

Key job responsibilities - Design and build automated reporting for Income Statement results, highlighting trends, outliers, and actionable opportunities for AWS leadership. - Collaborate with partner finance teams to identify data sources, understand business drivers, and develop KPIs that support cost efficiency and revenue growth across AWS. - Use Amazon QuickSight and other AI-based tools to model, consolidate, and transform complex data sets into dynamic financial reports and analyses. - Drive core financial processes including monthly and quarterly business reviews, risk and opportunity assessments, and month-end close activities. - Audit data for accuracy, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement process improvements that strengthen financial controls and reporting quality.

A day in the life You might start your morning reviewing the latest Income Statement outputs, verifying data accuracy and flagging anomalies before a cross-functional sync with partner finance teams. From there, you could shift to building a new QuickSight dashboard that consolidates data from multiple sources into a single view for leadership. In the afternoon, you may prepare a narrative summarizing key financial trends for an upcoming business review, then wrap up by refining an automation that reduces manual steps in a recurring reporting workflow.
