Job Description

As an apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to install, maintain and fault-find on the following systems:

  • Integrated Reception Systems (IRS)
  • CCTV and video surveillance
  • Access control and lift control
  • Audio and video door entry systems
  • Intruder and panic alarm systems
  • Managed LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi networks
  • VoIP and Radio over IP (RoIP)
  • Public address and background music systems

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, problem-solving, and learning new technical skills in various environments.

Entry Requirements

  • 18+ due to site restrictions
  • Must be able to pass a DBS check
  • Advantage to drive by the end of the apprenticeship
  • Ideal candidate will need to have an interest within the industry/electronics
  • Must have Maths and English GCSE at grade 4 or above

Training to be Provided

This is where you'll learn the skills that employers actually want.

Your apprenticeship training is delivered by Skills for Security, specialists in fire and security training.

You’ll train through block release at our Watford centre, for one week every eight weeks (Tuesday–Friday).

You’ll work towards a Level 3 Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Technician apprenticeship, gaining real skills and a nationally recognised qualification.
