Nokia’s Hardware Development Organization is seeking a Product Compliance Manager to lead the Product Compliance test laboratory in Italy to ensure products meet the applicable standard and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will manage the Product Compliance test laboratory, in which environmental tests are performed, and you will be part of the standardization organizations that develop the compliance standards for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality systems to ensure optimal laboratory performance
- Develop the quality policy and documentation to comply with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
- Define and maintain the process documents requested for product compliance for the ISO 9000/TL 9000 quality system
- Manage operations costs and capital expenditures to ensure the proper operation of the laboratory
- Disseminate and enforce the application of the health and safety policy to the laboratory staff to be compliant with the applicable regulations for workers
- Manage a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to define test-setups, test plan (including reference standards and compliance classes) and improvements in case of failures.
- Full responsibility for all people management topics and development of this team.
- Define and coordinate the product compliance plan and tests with all involved stakeholders
- Provide technical support to R&D and PLM teams on compliance requirements, standards and regulations applicable to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment
- Provide technical support to the Environmental, Sustainability and Governance team on sustainability aspects linked to product compliance
- Manage the standardization activities in ETSI, IEC, ITU-T and CENELEC on the standards for Electromagnetic compatibility, safety, environmental (temperature, humidity, mechanical etc), power supply interface and resistibility to ensure the requirements are properly defined and products are tested according to the latest valid standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that may arise in laboratory operations such as test equipment malfunctions, delay in test completion and safety issues for workers.
Qualifications
Must-have:
- Master's degree in a scientific discipline with hardware development background
- Proven experience with test laboratory management
- Good knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols
- Good knowledge of quality systems for test laboratories in accordance to IEC/ISO 17025 and with aspects in ISO9000/TL9000 relevant to product compliance
- Good background in the field of test activities performed in the laboratory such as Electromagnetic compatibility, safety, environmental (temperature, humidity, mechanical etc), power supply interface, resistibility and acoustic
- Proven knowledge of the compliance standards and regulations for Information and
- Communication Technology (ICT) equipment and knowledge of electronics circuit design for determination of possible improvement actions to comply with the applicable requirements
- Experience in standardization organizations for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment
- Good knowledge of sustainability aspects and standards for ICTs
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with budget management and financial planning
- Leadership in standardization organizations for standards on product compliance of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment
