Description

Due to Satterfield & Pontikes' continued growth and expansion, we are adding an experienced Assistant Project Manager to our San Antonio team. Our projects range from $25 million to $200 million and include K-12 education, higher education, healthcare, mixed-use, and other vertical construction projects. In this role, you will support all aspects of project management, including scheduling, procurement, cost control, subcontractor coordination, quality management, and project closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in commercial construction and a desire to grow into a project leadership role.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with project planning and mobilization activities
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of CPM baseline schedules, monthly schedule updates, narratives, and schedule revisions
  • Assist with timely and accurate subcontractor purchasing and implementation of company bonding policies
  • Process submittals to support project schedules and contract requirements
  • Expedite material deliveries from subcontractors and vendors
  • Manage the RFI process and ensure project drawings and documentation remain current and accurate
  • Coordinate and participate in subcontractor preconstruction meetings alongside Project Managers and Superintendents
  • Participate in safety planning initiatives and support the company's Safety Observation System (SOS) Program
  • Support implementation and management of the company Quality Control Program
  • Assist in reviewing weekly and monthly job cost reports and preparing project financial analyses
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly owner pay applications and draw requests
  • Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure subcontractor Schedule of Values and supplier documentation are properly managed and controlled
  • Assist with the management of prime contract and subcontractor change orders
  • Support project closeout activities in compliance with contract requirements
  • Ensure project management systems and procedures are followed in accordance with company standards
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to support successful project delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager on projects valued at $10 million or greater
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices and project management processes
  • Experience with scheduling, procurement, cost control, and subcontractor coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software
