Job Description
**For ContiTech Power Transmission Solutions, we are seeking a Product Development Engineer (m/f/diverse) for the Power Transmission Belt Product Development department. This is a critical role with the following key responsibilities:**
- Direct the planning and rigorous monitoring of product development projects in strict accordance with established PLC frameworks
- Formulate comprehensive new product specifications that precisely align with customer requirements and technical standards
- Oversee and execute prototype production runs with full accountability for quality and timeline adherence
- Assess and implement advanced materials with thorough evaluation of performance implications
- Conduct rigorous verification and quality assurance of prototypes, including dimensional analysis, comprehensive laboratory testing, and durability assessment protocols
- Lead and manage the transition to serial production, ensuring seamless handover and operational readiness
- Direct the transfer of products from development to industrialisation, maintaining strict quality and compliance standards
- Spearhead cost reduction initiatives whilst maintaining product integrity and performance standards
- Conduct systematic root cause and failure analysis to resolve customer complaints and prevent recurrence
- Execute additional product development responsibilities as mandated by operational requirements and business priorities
- Provide direct supervision and mentoring of students, student thesis projects, and interns, fostering professional development
Qualifications
- Academic degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (mandatory)
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in product development, materials engineering, or power transmission manufacturing
- Demonstrated expertise in rubber materials and rubber belt manufacturing processes
- Proficient written and spoken English language skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a methodical and autonomous approach to work
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Willingness and capability to undertake business travel as required
