The Opportunity: Join our team as a Database Administrator to support the Software Engineering Environment (SE2) and its associated databases. You will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing our database systems, while providing critical support to software developers.

Hybrid work environment! Work 2 days onsite and 3 days remotely each week.

Responsibilities: •Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for the SE2 environment •Ensure database performance, integrity, security, and availability •Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures •Collaborate with software developers to support their database needs •Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise •Work with IIS and ColdFusion •Implement and maintain SQL STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for database security •Provide critical support to software developers in managing SQL databases •Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices

Qualifications: Required: •An active DoD Secret clearance. •Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline •Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration •Professionally recognized cybersecurity certifications per DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M •Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) •Experience with cloud database services, particularly in Azure and Azure Storage Explorer •Strong knowledge of SQL STIGs and their implementation •Experience working with IIS and ColdFusion for database communication •Solid understanding of database backup and recovery procedures •Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases •Strong problem-solving and analytical skills •Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desired: •Advanced degree in a related field •Experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL •Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts •Experience with database automation and scripting •Relevant database certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) •Experience with data migration and integration projects

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$99,300 - 208,600 USD
